Abstract

1,142,747. Cathode ray tubes. GENERAL ELECTRIC CO. 26 Sept., 1966 [3 Jan., 1966] No. 42792/66. Heading H1D. An electron optical system comprises in coaxial relation along a reference axis an electron beam source 10, a prefocusing electron lens 20, a main focusing lens 40 and a spiral collimating electrode 56, 58 to effect normal landing of electrons on to a target 8. In a C.R.T. described in Specification 1,020,633, the continuous coating 48 is terminated at the neck of the bulb 4 and the remainder of the bulb coated with the collimating electrode consisting of a cylindrical part 56 and a spiral 58, the number of turns and resistance thereof increasing towards the target.
