Abstract
1,135,276. Low frequency oscillator circuits. COMPAGNIE FRANCAISE THOMSON HOUSTON-HOTCHKISS BRANDT. 16 March 1966 [16 March, 1965], No. 11588/66. Heading H3T. [Also in Division H1] A low frequency oscillator comprises a control device having its outputs connected to heating elements and its inputs coupled to temperature sensitive elements whereby oscillation takes place at a frequency determined by the transmission of heat to the temperature sensitive elements. When transistor T3 of the differential switching circuit F is not conducting current flows through a heating element P1, raising the temperature of a transistor S1. Its current accordingly rises until the voltage it applies to terminal B is less than to voltage at A whereupon the conductive condition of transistors T3 to T4 reverse whereby heater P1 is de-energized and P2 is energized. Transistor S2 is now heated and in this manner the circuit oscillates. The transistor and heater units may be in integral form in which case a resistive element or a forward or reverse biased PN diode acting as a heater surrounds either the transistor or a negative temperature coefficient resistor which may replace the transistor (Figs. 4 and 5 not shown). Alternatively a heater coil may be wound concentrically with a temperature sensitive resistor coil.
