Abstract

1,132,660. Two colour choppers. STANDARD TELEPHONES & CABLES Ltd. July 7, 1967, No.31327/67. Heading G2J. A two colour chopper having transmission peaks at two wavelengths is provided with a flicker compensating filter in the form of a plane parallel dielectric layer which is transparent at the two wavelengths and has a transmission characteristic produced by multiple beam interference between the two surfaces of the layer; the transmission characteristic of the filter and hence the compensation is adjustable by varying its angle of inclination with respect to the chopper. The filter may be mica having its surfaces treated to increase or decrease reflectivity.
