Abstract

111,215. Bamford, W. Feb. 17, 1917. Vacuum cleaning-apparatus. - In a suction dust and ash extracting apparatus for boiler flues of the kind described in Specification 21620/13, the inlet nozzle is covered by a screen or cage of perforated metal or wire, to prevent choking of the dust pipe by large pieces of ash. The screen B is of the bulbous form shown, with a neck C by which it is secured to the nozzle A, and the lower part is flattened so that the pipe will not be raised above the surface of the flue. The screen is of such size that the suction at its surface will be insufficient to hold large pieces of ash &c. against the perforations.
