Abstract

An induction-flow-meter operating in a nullcircuit arrangement comprises an inductionmeasuring-head 1, transformer coupled to highgain amplifier 14..18 to energize a reversible motor 22 actuating a recording instrument pointer. The actuator is also coupled to the core 10 of a differential transformer providing a balancing signal in phase-opposition to that from the induction measuring head through phase-shifter 33, potential divider 35 and transformer 12, whereby the system acquires a balanced condition when the difference between the measuring signal and balancing signal is less than the threshold sensitivity of the amplifier. Compensating Circuits. Inductor 32 compensates for mains frequency variation; manually adjustable core 9 of a differential transformer connected through a phase-shifter 36 and divider 37 to the transformer 12 provides for zero setting to compensate for stray field signals.
