Improvements in Target Practice Apparatus for use with Small Arms.

Abstract

Teaching rifle-shooting. - Relates to targetholdens for use with practice apparatus of the kind in which a rod contained in a tube inserted in the barrel of a small-arm is projected by a blow from the hammer or firing-pin to mark a target placed a few inches in front of the muzzle of the gun. According to the invention, the target-holder is provided with a casing containing pivoted pockets for dummy cartridges and spare targets. In the construction shown, the holder comprises a tubular upright A adapted to receive the marking-rod when it is out of use, a block D sliding on the upright A and adapted to receive a target card C, and a casing 26 containing twc pivoted pockets 18, 19 for spare targets and dummy cartridges.
