Abstract

1,097,251. Belt tensioning devices; linkwork. STOTHERT & PITT Ltd. Feb. 25, 1965 [Feb. 25, 1964], No. 7806/64. Headings F2K and F2Q. A belt-tensioning device comprises a pulley 1 rotatably mounted, by bearings 3, on an adjustable eccentric 2, which is mounted on a fixed stub shaft 5, and the pulley 1 is coupled to a shaft 21 by linkwork. The coupling comprises a floating plate 11 which is connected by opposed links 9, 10, Fig. 2 (not shown), to diametrically opposed pins 7, 8 mounted on the pulley 1 and is connected by opposed links 16, 17 to the ends of a member 20 splined to the shaft 21. Adjustment of the eccentric 2 may be effected by rotation of a wheel 24 which acts through gearing 23, 22, the wheel 24 normally being locked by a bolt 25.
