Abstract

1,095,644. Air heaters; air-cooling installations. K. R. BEETLESTONE. May 9, 1966 [Feb. 16, 1965], No. 6680/65. Heading F4S. An air-heater unit for a fireplace comprises a hollow base 10 having an air inlet 6 and housing an electric blower 5, and an air jacket 12 around the back or sides of the fireplace having an outlet 1 from a forwardly-extending portion 14 provided with flue pipes 2, forwardlyextending vertical fins 4 and rearwardlyextending sinuous fins 3 being formed on the front wall of the jacket. A thermostat 9 for controlling the blower is connected thereto by a heat-resistant cable 10. A plurality of thermostats associated with the heat exchanger and coupled to resistors of different values may be provided to allow automatic slow down of the blower as the fire cools. A manual switch may be provided to allow circulation of cool air in warm weather and a small refrigeration unit may be installed in the grate.
