Abstract
1,091,477. Connecting-pieces. AMP Inc. Aug. 19, 1966 [Sept. 11, 1965], No. 37226/66. Heading H2E. A connector for a tap-conductor and a line consists of a row of drilled and slotted members 1 held together by rods 5 in holes 4. Connection is made by inserting the end of the tapconductor in hole 2, placing the line in slot 6 and crimping the whole assembly. Several embodiments are illustrated which include: an assembly in which the floor of the slot is stepped (Figs. 2, 2A, not shown), an assembly using U-shaped members with alternate members broken away on opposite sides and an assembly which is held together by one hollow cylinder (8) (Fig. 5, not shown) which receives the tap-conductor. In this case (Fig. 5) the individual slots are C-shaped with the openings of adjacent members facing opposite ways.
