[Also in Divisions F1 and F2] A fluid-pressure actuated filing, sand-papering or other abrasive device comprises two pistons 66, 68 reciprocating in a body and connected to a reciprocating tool carrier, the connection being to different points of the carrier as the carrier moves. Air is admitted to passages 46, 48, 50 by a trigger 22 which depresses a ballvalve 30. The passages communicate with a reversing valve block 160. Each piston has lubricating wicks 76 and a rack 72 engaging a stationary pinion 112 which also engages a rack on the tool carrier. The reversing valves 172, 174 are operated by resilient heads 82 on the pistons. The tool-carrier is guided by ridges (104), Fig. 9 (not shown), and rollers (108) on sideplates (96, 98). The carrier supports a file 134 or an abrasiveband holder 140, Fig. 14, having spring clips 146 released by a key 242. When the device is operating at a relatively low pressure, the strokes are shorter due to the fact that the last part of the operation of the reversing valves takes place automatically due to the incoming air. Vibration is low due to the opposite movements of the tool and the pistons. A modified reversing valve block 190, Fig. 18, may be fitted in place of the block 160. There is then a single oscillating valve 208 reversed by a reciprocating projection engaging a recess 216.
