Abstract

1,084,897. Valves. DOLE VALVE CO. Dec. 6, 1965, No. 51599/65. Heading F2V. A thermostatically controlled valve comprises a valve seat member 17 connected to a base 14 and a stirrup 13, the stirrup forming an abutment for a rod 32 of a thermal actuator 27. A valve closure 19 is operatively connected to the power device and is loaded by a spring 36 towards the seat. The closure 19 has a groove 23, formed by undercuts 24, 25, which receives an 0-ring 22, the opening of groove being less than the natural diameter of the ring crosssection. When the valve closes, the 0-ring seats prior to the seating portion 21 on the closure 19.
