Abstract

1,084,803. Mixing appliances. SILVERSON MACHINES Ltd. March 18, 1964. [March 21, 1963], No. 11343/63. Heading B1C. [Also in Division F2] Apparatus for mixing and disintegrating materials giving off noxious gases or bacteria comprises a mixing head 4 to which the mixing vessel 5 may be releasably secured by means of the stirrup clamp 34 or by a screwed joint; the mixing head 4 is in turn releaseably secured to a member 18 forming part of the frame of the motor 7, by means of locking balls 24 which may be locked in the groove 32 by sleeve 21. The mixing vessel and shaft are made gas tight by seals 41, 6 respectively, both when the head is secured to the motor and when it is free. The shaft 9 is driven through a detachable coupling 17, 33 and carries at its lower end a rotor consisting of a disc 42 with four depending blades 43; in operation material is drawn into the bottom of the stator tube 29 and expelled through openings 44 in it.
