Abstract

1,081,315. Sheet delivering apparatus. JAGENBERG-WERKE A.G. Aug. 6, 1965 [Oet. 23, 1964], No. 33740/65. Heading B6H. Sheets 4 cut by a transverse rotary cutter 3 from a paper web 1 are advanced between sheet overlapping conveying tapes 5, 6 and 7, 8 to a stacking conveyer belt 9 which passes them on to a stack 10. The sheets are delivered in counted batches by means of a feeler head emitting a pulse to a counter 14, which after a predetermined number of pulses generates a starting pulse, which operates a marker strip inserter 11 in which a marker strip 13 is cut-off, folded into a V-shape and inserted below a sheet to engage its leading edge. To facilitate insertion a deflecting shoe 17 is placed along the longitudinal axis of the conveying path to fan out the passing sheets by deflecting the leading edges upwardly in the region of the shoe 17 only, to provide a space for the marker strip. The fanning out may be assisted by means of two suction rollers 19, Fig. 4 (not shown), or an air nozzle 18, Fig. 3 (not shown).
