A structure adaptable to form either a bed or a sofa comprises a mattress frame 4 pivotably mounted at each end on an end board 1 by means of a rod 7. The frame 4 is supported along one side by vertical legs and each end of the frame is hinged near the opposite side. The hinged portion of the frame is supported at each end by a rod 2 connecting frame 4 to end boards 1. The position of frame 4 is adjustable so that the hinged portion can either be horizontal or vertical. A key 6 controls the position of rod 7.
