A device for securing a hollow pedestal, e.g. a water-closet pan 1, to the floor 6 comprises a leaf spring 7 within the pedestal thereof connected to the floor 6, to which is connected a hook 12, and a cranked shaft the crank of which engages the hooked end to tension the leaf spring to press the pedestal towards the floor 6 at the rim 1a. The shaft of the hook 12 extends through a hole 17 in one end of the leaf spring 7 and has a disc 12b to engage it. Modifications have a single armed leaf spring instead of a double-armed one and in one of them the crank comprises a stay welded to a shaft.
