Abstract

1,067,187. Railway vehicle floors. TOWNSEND CO. Jan. 20, 1966, No. 2615/66. -Heading B7L. [Also in Division F2] A spur plate for mounting boards, e.g. in railway wagons, comprises a metal strip (6). Figs. 1 and 4 (not shown), having one end (13) pointed and deformed out of the plane of the strip on one side to bite into the board (4), the other end portion (10) being offset in relation to the other side to provide a lip for engaging beneath a side sill (5) to which the board is to be clamped, an intermediate portion (8) being flat and having a collar (14) on the same side as the offset portion (10) for the reception of a shank (7) of a bolt used to clamp the board to the sill. The bolt is pulled through the collar by a tool which also deforms the collar to lock the bolt in position. The collar may be integral with the plate or a separate member press-fitted into a recess.
