Abstract

An aluminium based alloy comprises .Fe.0.1 - 0.5% .Rare Earth Metals.0.6 - 30% .with or without one of. .Zr.0.01 - 0.1% .or Mg.0.02 - 0.6% the balance apart from impurities which do not reduce electrical conductivity (e.g. Cu and Si) being aluminium. The alloys of the invention may be annealed at 100 DEG - 220 DEG C. after usual working procedures.
