A laminated wrapping material comprises in sequential layers, polyethylene 10, a film of regenerated cellulose 11, polyethylene 12, and a heat-resisting exterior layer 13 of a material having a melting-point higher than the adjacent polyethylene layer. The heat-resistant layer is preferably heat-set bi-axially oriented polypropylene, although polyethylene terephthalate may be used. Preferably the regenerated cellulose layer 11 is coated on at least one side with a vinylidene chloride co-polymer, and the cellulose may be prime coated with a dilute polyethylene imine solution. Preferably the polyethylene has a density of 0.914- 0.925 and a melt index between 4-12. The composite sheet may be extrusion laminated.
