Abstract
1,051,444. Cradles for lifting sheet materials. GLAVERBEL. Sept. 26, 1963, No. 38035/63. Heading B8H. Sheets of material, e.g. glass, are supported on flanges 3, Figs. 1, 2, of a rack 2 and held in position by adjustable clamps 6 which fit over the top of the sheets. The clamps 6 are attached to sleeves 8 which are moved on tubes 2<SP>1</SP> by rods 9. Screw clamps 13, 14 hold the rods in position. The flanges 3 and clamps 6 are lined with wood or felt 4, 7. The rack is lifted by a loop 5 or alternatively a simple ring. Spaced stacks of sheets 16, Fig. 4, leaning against a wall 15, may be sequentially lifted by clamping the rack to them and removing the rack and stack by conventional lifting tackle.
