A composite door comprises a frame 1, the whole or part thereof and the core 5 of corrugated or latticed form being pressed integrally from a mixture of comminuted fibrous material and a thermosetting binder and the frame part normally visible being covered with a layer of plastics material 4 preferably, during the pressing operation. The portions of the frame 1 engaging facing boards 6 are not covered by the plastics material 4 and the frame is provided with an undercut rabbet 3 to receive the facing boards 6 which are covered with a layer 4 of plastics material and are glued to the contact surfaces 7 of the frame 1 and the core 5. The parts of the frame not-pressed out with the core may be jointed, e.g. by mitred joints to those parts pressed out integrally with the core.
