Abstract

1,043,751. Strip dispensers. MONROE CALCULATING MACHINE CO. April 24, 1964 [April 30, 1963], No. 17207/64. Heading A4G. [Also in Division B8] A dispenser for strip in a roll or fanfolded form comprises a container 1 having a slot 14 in its top wall through which the strip is withdrawn and a flap 13 hinged to the container adjacent the slot and movable to clamp the strip between the flap and top wall for tearing the strip along edge 13a. The container may be integrally moulded in plastics material with a flanged lid 10 hinged to one side with locking tabs 16, 17 and padlock eyes 23 on the other, and the lid may be marked for linear measurement. Internal walls 25, 5 have slots 28 which may carry linear measurement marks for the partitions 27, rolls accommodating different widths of strip rolls resting on base ribs 26 and key-hole slots in the base provided with a manual snap locking means 41b enable the dispenser, if for trading stamps, to be mounted on a cash desk. The container may be rectangular or cylindrical, and the flap may be curved and hinged along the edge or across the cylindrical wall. A further flap may be provided having a punch cooperating with a container hole for punching the strip as an aid to linear measurement.
