Abstract

1,043,412. Tobacco smoke filters. EASTMAN KODAK CO. April 8, 1963 [April 9, 1962 (2)], No. 13957/63. Heading A2C. A tobacco smoke filter is characterized in that it contains an agent which removes aromatic hydroxy compounds from the tobacco smoke, the agent comprising 2-30% by weight of the filter of a substance selected from a polyester of ethylene glycol, a polyester of propylene glycol, diethylene glycol dipropionate, dipropylene glycol dipropionate, sucrose octabutyrate, sucrose acetate isobutyrate, triethylene glycol dipropionate, sorbitol hexapropionate, pentaerythritol tetrabutyrate, trimethylpentane diol dibenzoate and alpha-methyl glucoside tetravalerate. The agent is applied by spraying, on to a filtering element of polyolefin or cellulosic material. Quantitative examples are given.
