Abstract

104,238. Harvey, C. J. March 13, 1916. Reservoir and selffeeding brushes, pads, and mops.-In a device for cleaning floors &c., an absorbent body b, Fig. 1, is held against a wooden or other back a<1> by a porous material c connected at one end to means for varying the pressure of the material on the absorbent body. Various means are described for increasing the tension of the material c, whereby moisture is expressed from the sponge or other body b. As shown in Fig. 1, the member c is put under tension by a pull on the cord h. Fig. 8 shows a modified device in which the absorbent body is pressed against the material c by a lever k<1> pivoted on the body a<1> at k<2>. The device shown in Fig. 1 may be inverted, whereby moisture is fed to a brush j.
