Abstract

An oxygen storage container suitable for use with a portable respirator consists of a block of light metal or synthetic plastic material formed into two or more groups of intercommunicating cellular compartments. In Fig. 1 (not shown) concentric walls are connected by radial walls to form an inner cylindrical compartment 10 surrounded by groups of compartments 11, 12, 13 and the radial walls connecting the two innermost axial walls each contain a bore 18 Fig. 2 (not shown) forming further compartments. In a respirator of the closed circuit type comprising a casing provided at opposite ends with a bellows tube and mouthpiece 49, 52 Fig. 10 (not shown) and a breather bag 58 and with a carbon dioxide absorbant in a chamber 42 between the ends, the chamber 42 is flanked by a pair of interconnected oxygen containers.
