Abstract

1,030,097. Refrigerating. CHEMICAL CONSTRUCTION CORPORATION. Nov. 13, 1964, No. 46391/64. Heading F4H. A refrigeration system comprises a coil 3 in which liquid refrigerant cools and is partly vaporized by a load 2, a separator 7 in which the refrigerant from coil 3 is separated into the liquid and vapour phases, a condenser 11 for condensing the vapour from separator 7 and a flash cooler 20 in which liquid refrigerant from condenser 11 and separator 7 is partly evaporated, the cooled liquid refrigerant from cooler 20 being forwarded by a pump 24 to coil 3. Refrigerant vapour from cooler 20 is compressed by a compressor 22 and supplied through line 9 to the condenser. The load 2 is an intercooler for a gas flowing between compressor stages 25 and 26.
