Abstract

1,020,697. Tube end and like protectors; stoppers. GLASS TITE INDUSTRIES Inc. Jan. 19, 1965, No. 2299/65. Headings B8C and B8T. [Also in Division F2] A closure formed of yieldable material, e.g. polyethylene for protecting tube interiors against contamination and temporarily stopping apertures in machinery <&c., comprises a head 13 for manipulative purposes, a flange 12 and a hollow plug portion 11 having screw threads 18 along a minor portion only of its length. The closure may engage the nut 22 of a standard tube connection and seat against the ferrule 21. In another such connection (Fig. 4, not shown), it seats against the flared end of the tube. The underside of the flange 12 may be beaded and tapered as shown to seal against a plain surface having a threaded aperture engaged by the plug.
