Abstract

1,010,869. Egg containers. SKANDINAVISK EMBALLAGE A/S. Dec. 18, 1963 [March 12, 1963], No. 50053/63. Heading B8P. A cellular egg container of precipitated fibrous material comprises a base 10 having hinged thereto a lid 12, and a flap 14 the flange 30 of which lies in the plane of the base bottom, the flap being inclined to that plane at the same angle as the lateral wall of the lid when the lid top lies in that plane. The flap is therefore supported by the surface on which the container rests during the drying process, thus to prevent warping and the design also facilitates nesting the containers. The container is locked by projections 32 of the flap each of which comprises an inclined front wall 36 and side walls 38 engaging corresponding apertures 34 in the lid wall. The edges of the projections and the lid wall apertures are strengthened by beads 40 and 44 respectively.
