Material from a heap P is discharged by a screw conveyer 4 working in a casing 1, and the casing is provided with a sleeve extension 6 which is carried adjustably at 8 and is provided with a foot 5. The sleeve extension 6 has its edge formed in a helix 6b such that a person's hand cannot be trapped by the screw.
