Abstract

1,000,910. Hurdles. E. H. WOOD. June 10, 1963, No. 23003/63. Heading E1B. [Also in Division A4] An equestrian hurdle comprises a trestle or stand 1, along the upper edge of which there is secured a stock 6 from which projects upwardly a mass of bristles 8 made from a synthetic resinous material. The trestle may be of closed construction or, as shown, is of open design with the bristles 8 threaded through pairs of holes 7 in the stock 6 and secured with a clamping bar or a number of clamping plates 9. In an embodiment, a separate bunch of bristles is applied to each hole, the hole being conical and the bristles being held by wedges. Each bristle may be of circular or cruciform section.
