Appareil électroménager de repassage comportant un fer à repasser (1) et une base (2) reliée audit fer à repasser (1) par un cordon (3), le fer à repasser (1) comprenant une semelle (10) surmontée d'un corps (11) sur lequel est disposé une poignée (12) de préhension, ladite base (2) comprenant une cavité de rangement (25) pour poser ledit fer à repasser (1) et une poignée de transport (23) pour déplacer l’appareil, caractérisé en ce que la poignée (12) du fer à repasser (1) est disposée en porte-à-faux par rapport à la semelle (10) et en ce que la cavité de rangement (25) comporte une paroi périphérique (25B) qui vient envelopper au moins partiellement le corps (11) du fer à repasser (1) lorsque ce dernier repose dans la cavité de rangement (25), ladite poignée (12) comportant une extrémité arrière qui est maintenue en position dans la cavité de rangement (25) par des moyens magnétiques.
