COSMETIC PRODUCT APPLICATOR, IN PARTICULAR LIPSTICK

The invention relates to the field of cosmetics, and relates in particular and more particularly to lipsticks.

Lipstick is a widely consumed product. It is estimated that around 27 tubes of lipstick are purchased every second worldwide.

A lipstick essentially consists of fatty substances of vegetable, animal or synthetic origin in liquid form (oils, for example castor, jojoba or sweet almond oil), pasty (fats, for example triglycerides, glycerin ester) or solid (waxes, for example beeswax) and fillers (pigments and pearlescent agents) to give the coloring and coverage of the film. Preservatives (eg phenoxyethanol) improve the life of the lipstick.

The waxes can be of synthetic origin (polyethylene waxes, silicone waxes), animal (beeswax), mineral (ozokerite waxes, paraffins) or vegetable (candelilla, carnauba).

The fatty substances and the gelling agents give the lipstick its characteristics of fondant, flexibility and mechanical strength during the spreading of the fatty film on the lips.

Taking environmental concerns into account has led to the formulation of "organic" lipsticks, in which petrochemical products are avoided (ozokerite, paraffin oil), as well as certain preservatives such as parabens, as well as certain oils, such as squalene oil.

It is known to use lipstick testers in boutiques.

However, the use of such testers has been the subject of some litigation. According to some complainants, the tubes and bottles made available to customers in cosmetics stores could contain bacteria, such as staphylococcus aureus or salmonella, or even the herpes virus.

Lipstick testers are also not used on the mucous membranes, but rather on the back of the hand or on the forearm, and the testers are often regularly disinfected.

The recent health crises, and in particular that of the coronavirus, have reinforced the demand for safety among consumers.

It has also been known for decades to deliver lipstick samples to consumers in the form of single-use applicators.

In one known design, the samples are arranged in a package resembling a tear-off matchbook. Reference may be made, for example, to documents US2042584 (Bustamante), US2547252 (The Lipmatch Company), US2568853 (Nash), US2012/0266910 (HCT), US2009/0095316 (Gensch), FR1012605 (Politzer), GB710695 (Kocen) , FR2535588 (Loreal), FR2517529 (Loreal), CN 207084429U (Lin), US4714160 (Rjs).

Matchbook-like packaging, which has been available for decades, and of which there are vintage versions to this day, has many drawbacks.

First, the cosmetic product is not protected against contamination. The lipstick placed at the end of the sticks is exposed to dust and bacterial agents.

Secondly, the cosmetic product is not protected against the risks of degradation, by rubbing, crushing, or by heat, for example when the pouch is placed in clothing.

However, lipsticks are sensitive to temperature.

The pasty fatty substances melt at the temperature of the skin (about 32° C.), to allow the application of the fatty film on the lips.

A rise in temperature can lead to the exudation on the surface of small drops, traces which can persist on the surface, which makes the product less attractive.

Thirdly, the manual detachment of the sticks can be difficult, with the risk of direct contact of the fingers on the part of the sticks bearing the cosmetic product.

Finally, when a pouch of applicators has been opened, the user cannot know whether the stick he is taking from the pouch has been polluted or not.

In another design, the samples are "mini" versions, scale models of the products offered for sale. Reference may be made, for example, to documents US3591298 (Green), WO2013118969 (Yonwoo).

Such samples have several drawbacks. In particular, their dimensions do not allow a sensory experience similar to that which would be obtained with the product offered for sale. Moreover, the manufacture of mini versions, for example mini lipstick, is expensive.

The present invention aims to overcome the disadvantages of the prior art presented above.

The object of the present invention is in particular to provide means allowing the consumer to experience a product, such as a lipstick, with complete confidence and complete safety.

The present invention also aims to provide means allowing the consumer to experience a product, such as a lipstick, from a sample, both at a point of sale and at home. , with a sensory experience as close as possible to that experienced with the marketed product.

For these purposes, there is proposed, according to a first aspect, a disposable cosmetic product applicator comprising: a first part provided with a first part bearing a cosmetic product which can be poured hot; a second part forming a closed packaging, the first part being placed inside the closed packaging, before a first use of the applicator, the first part being housed in a cavity of the packaging; the first part being provided with a second part bearing a projection for manual gripping or assembly.

The manual gripping projection advantageously makes it possible to extract from the packaging the first part carrying the cosmetic product, without the risk of manual contact with the cosmetic product.

The assembly projection advantageously allows the mounting of the first part on a conventional lipstick tube, instead of the stick, to extract the first part bearing the cosmetic product from the packaging, without the risk of manual contact with the cosmetic product. .

The material forming the closed package can be opaque, semi-transparent, translucent or transparent. In some implementations, the material forming the closed packaging is tinted in the mass or coated with paint, lacquer or varnish.

The closed packaging protects the cosmetic product from any contamination, dust or bacterial agent. If necessary, a treatment, for example a radiation treatment, is carried out to ensure aseptic packaging.

The closed packaging advantageously forms a shell, protecting the cosmetic product from damage by impact or crushing. The applicator can thus be transported in a bag or a pocket of clothing, without risk of degradation of the cosmetic product.

Advantageously, the first part and the second part are separated by an intermediate part forming a bearing stop for the first part in the packaging.

In some implementations, the hand grip projection is formed by a hinged tab. The tab is advantageously folded before the first opening of the packaging.

Advantageously, the second part is made of thermoformed material.

In some implementations, the thermoformed material is a polymeric material. In other implementations, the thermoformed material is a cellulosic material such as paper, or a multilayer comprising for example a cellulosic material and a polymer material.

Thermoforming can result from heating a polymer film in a mold (negative thermoforming) or on a mold (positive thermoforming).

When the thermoformed material is a polymer, the polymer material can be an amorphous or semi-crystalline material.

In certain implementations, the polymer material forming the shell is biodegradable and is for example a polylactic acid (PLA), a polyvinyl acetate (PVAc), a polyvinyl alcohol (PVOH), or a biodegradable polyester chosen from polylactic acid , polyglycolic acid, polyhydroxybutyric acid, polyhydroxyproprionic acid, polyhydroxyvalerianic acid, copolymers of at least two of the aforementioned polyesters, as well as derivatives and salts of the aforementioned polymers and copolymers.

The second part is for example made of a material chosen from the list comprising cellulosic materials, polystyrene (PS), polyvinyl chloride (PVC), polyacryl butadiene styrene (ABS), polymethylmethacrylate (PMMA), polycarbonate ( PC), polypropylene (PP), polyethylene terephthalate (PET), polyethylene, high density polyethylene (HDPE), polylactic acid (PLA), polyvinyl acetate (PVAc), polyvinyl alcohol (PVOH) .

In some implementations, the second part comprises a peelable lid, the detachment of the peelable lid opening the closed packaging, during the first use of the applicator.

In other implementations, the second part comprises a sealable lid, the piercing of the sealable lid opening the closed packaging, during the first use of the applicator.

In some embodiments, the first part comprises a cavity containing the hot-pourable cosmetic product.

In other embodiments, the first part carries a mass of cosmetic product that can be poured hot into the cavity of the packaging.

The first part can be made of paper, cardboard, wood, polymer material, composite material or metal alloy.

The applicator 1 comprises a first part 1a (represented in FIGS. 1 to 5) and a second part forming a closed packaging for the first part 1a.

The first part 1a is provided with a first part 2, upper, and a second part 3, lower, separated by an intermediate part 4.

The first upper part 2 forms a cavity 5, containing a small quantity of cosmetic product 6, for example a lipstick.

In the embodiment shown, the cavity 5 is delimited laterally by a cylindrical wall 7, of revolution around an axis AA.

In other embodiments, not shown, the cavity containing the small amount of cosmetic product is delimited by a square, rectangular, polygonal, or even oval, or elliptical section wall.

In one implementation, the opening of the cavity 5 extends along a plane inclined with respect to the axis AA, the mass of cosmetic product 6 extending projecting along a plane substantially parallel to the opening plane of cavity 5.

In another implementation, the mass of cosmetic product 6 forms an upper plane inclined with respect to the axis AA. The angle is for example about 25°.

By these arrangements, a large surface of cosmetic product 6 is visible on the applicator 1, and the cosmetic product 6 is in a form similar to that of the product offered for sale, for example a lipstick stick.

The second part 3, lower, is advantageously provided with a tab 8 for gripping.

Advantageously, this tongue 8 is articulated with respect to the intermediate part 4, between a folded position, in which the tongue 8 is folded back into a housing 9 and an unfolded position. In the folded position of the tab 8, the applicator 1 is compact, and the first part 1a can be laid flat.

The articulation of the tongue 8 with respect to the intermediate part 4 can result from a thinning, or from a line of folding, creasing, grooving or a line of perforations.

In some implementations, the tongue 8 is provided with reliefs facilitating a firm grip.

The first part 1a can be made of polymer material, or even of composite material or metal alloy.

In some implementations, the first piece 1a is made of wood, paper, cardboard, or biodegradable polymer material.

In some implementations, the first part 1a comes from molding, for example by injection.

Advantageously, the first part 1a is placed in a blister-type packaging.

By blister, is meant here a shell or a blister packaging, for example made of polymer material, cardboard or a multilayer. The polymer material is for example polyethylene terephthalate (PET), or else polyvinyl chloride (PVC), polypropylene (PP), polystyrene (PS), polyacryl butadiene styrene (ABS), polymethylmethacrylate (PMMA), polycarbonate (PC) , polyethylene, in particular high density polyethylene (HDPE), or an amorphous polyester (APET)/polyethylene (PE) complex, a polylactic acid (PLA), a polyvinyl acetate (PVAc), a polyvinyl alcohol (PVOH).

The shell forms a closed package containing the first part 1a of the applicator 1.

In an advantageous implementation, the shell is transparent, semi-transparent or translucent. This arrangement makes it possible to leave the cosmetic product 6 visible.

Advantageously, the opening of the blister is obtained by manual removal of a peelable lid, or by perforation of a sealable or welded lid.

The expression "welded cover" is used here to denote the fact that the cover is sealed to the shell, for example by hot welding, high-frequency welding, ultrasonic welding, gluing. Ultrasonic welding brings strong pressure and high heat to a very small surface, making it possible to produce a final localized weld.

The lid and the shell are advantageously made of a multilayer material. In some implementations, a non-metallic layer faces the cosmetic product, and an outer layer is formed from one or more adjoining layers of thermoplastic materials such as vinyl polymers, polyester, polyolefins, polyamides.

The lid advantageously bears a print, for example a brand, a color identical or close to that of the cosmetic product 6.

The cosmetic product 6 is thus placed in a closed packaging, protected against shocks, and the presence of the lid in the form of an opening indicator.

In certain embodiments, the first part is mounted floating in the hull. In other words, the first part is not fixed to the shell, but is free to move slightly, for example a few tenths of a millimeter. This arrangement advantageously allows manufacturing tolerances to be taken into account.

In other embodiments, the first part is fixedly mounted on the shell, for example by snap-fastening, or using a pressure-sensitive adhesive.

By way of example and purely indicative, the dimensions of the first part 1a may be as follows:

• external diameter D4 of the intermediate part 4: 16.5 mm
• external diameter D7 of the cylindrical wall 7: 11.45 mm.

The cosmetic product 6 can be poured hot into the cavity 5.

Advantageously, the applicator 1 is a single-use makeup applicator, the cosmetic product being a lipstick.

The applicator 1 can be presented in a unitary blister or in a detachable blister. Between two blisters then advantageously extends a line of weakening, for example a line of creasing, grooving, or a line of perforations.

Using the applicator is very intuitive and natural. First, the user opens the shell containing the applicator, advantageously by removing the peelable seal.

The user then advantageously has direct manual access to the grip tab 8, and manually removes the applicator housed in the shell.

The applicator can be directly used to test the cosmetic product, for example a lipstick. The cosmetic product 6 is advantageously placed in the cavity 5 so as to form an angle similar to that of the end of a grape.

The applicator shown in Figures 1 to 5 can be used at home or at a point of sale.

The intermediate part 4 forms a support for an internal wall of the shell which matches the shapes of the applicator, without contact with the cosmetic product.

The applicator is thus protected against shocks or crushing by the stiffness of the shell.

The cosmetic product sample can thus be offered at the point of sale, to be carried in a pocket of clothing, or in a bag, or even be sent by post or the like.

Reference is now made to FIGS. 9 and following which illustrate a second embodiment.

In the embodiment shown in , the applicator 11 comprises a first part 11a, and a second part 11b forming a closed package for the first part 11a.

The first part 11a comprises a first upper part 12, a second part 13, separated by an intermediate part 14.

The first part 12 carries a mass of cosmetic product 16. In certain implementations, the first part 12 is similar to the first part 2 described with reference to the first embodiment. In other embodiments, the first part 12 carries a stud 12a for anchoring a small mass of cosmetic product, for example hot cast.

The second part 13 carries a means 20 for mounting on a conventional lipstick stick. The assembly is for example obtained by snap-fastening, fitting or plugging. The assembly means 20 is advantageously assembled on a stick of lipstick, instead of the stick.

The first part 11a of the applicator 11 is placed in a shell 30 comprising a first half-shell 31 and a second half-shell 32, connected by a hinge strip 33.

The first half-shell 31 defines a cavity 34 housing the first part 12 of the applicator 11.

The second half-shell 32 defines a cavity 35 housing the second part 13 of the applicator 11.

The shell 30 is hinged between a first, compact, closed position, shown in Figures 8, 10 and 11, and a completely open position, shown in Figures 5, 6 and 9.

In some implementations, the articulation of the two half-shells 31,32 results from a reduced thickness of material in the articulation strip 33.

As a variant or in combination, the hinge band 33 comprises at least one line or band of weakness, for example by creasing, grooving or perforation.

Advantageously, the shell forms a blister-type packaging.

By blister, is meant here a shell or a blister packaging, for example made of polymer material, cardboard or a multilayer. The shell forms a closed package containing the applicator 11.

To facilitate opening, the first half-shell 31 is provided with a first projection 40, and the second half-shell 32 is provided with a second projection 41, the two projections 40, 41 being radially spaced apart from one another. the other, when the shell is in the closed position. The invention has many advantages.

The consumer can smell the product, with a strong emotional experience.

The packaging is compact, space-saving, allowing it to be stored in a drawer or clothing pocket.

The invention allows use both at home, in transport, or at a point of sale, with a demonstrator facing a customer.

Opening the packaging and handling the sample is intuitive and the same gestures can be kept during the test: the contact of the formula on the mouth and the odor that accompanies it are preserved.

The sample can be offered in a single blister or in strips of pre-cut blisters. The sample can thus be stored in drawers, in displays, or in the bags of demonstrators.

When opening the shell, the risk of the user's fingers coming into contact with the cosmetic product is avoided.

The invention finds a particularly advantageous application in the field of lipsticks, but can be implemented for any cosmetic product that can be poured hot, such as care for the eyebrows, eyeliner, poured balms.

In advantageous implementations, the materials used are chosen to facilitate recycling.

Disposable cosmetic product applicator (1, 11) comprising:
- a first part (1a, 11a) provided with a first part (2, 12) carrying a cosmetic product (6, 16) which can be cast hot;
- a second part (11b) forming a closed packaging, the first part (1a, 11a) being placed inside the closed packaging, before a first use of the applicator, the first part (2, 12) being housed in a cavity (34) of the package;
