DEVICE FOR PROVIDING A GRAPHICAL INTERFACE IN A VEHICLE WITH AT LEAST ONE REGULATORY WIDGET. The invention relates to graphic interfaces, and in particular, customizable vehicle handsets.

Conventionally composed of a plurality of analog dials with hands associated with indicator lights, the instrument handsets are used to provide the driver with a multitude of data relating to the operation of a motor vehicle, such as, for example, instantaneous speeds and average, the engine speed, the number of kilometers traveled from the origin or over a certain period of time, the fuel level, or even the average fuel consumption. They also make it possible to display warning signals (excessive engine temperature, insufficient oil level, door not properly closed, seat belt not fastened, etc.) and warning lights indicating the activation of certain devices of the vehicle ( turn signals, handbrake, position, passing or road lights).

These instrument combinations, integrated into the dashboard of the vehicle, are usually arranged behind the steering wheel in the direct line of vision of the driver, so that the latter can see the information displayed without having to look away from the road.

In recent years there have been the appearance of fully digital instrument handsets with an active matrix LCD display (LCD-TFT) in place of analogue needle dials.

These new type of handsets, which offer a very good image quality in terms of resolution, contrast and brightness, are also configurable by the driver of the vehicle which can thus choose at least in part the modules he wants see on the screen as well as the display style (dials similar to analog dials or display in the form of graduations or figures reflecting the value of the relevant size) and the mood of the handset (sober with dark, or sporty lighting background with bright color background).

These digital handsets can also control a number of vehicle functions (air conditioning, audio system, central locking, lighting, etc.) via controls located on the steering wheel or remote at the center console of the vehicle.

Current handsets do not really offer the possibility of customizing the driver information display. The consequence is that some information that does not interest the driver can be displayed and degrade the display synthesis and especially the density of information.

Moreover, when settings are available, the multitude of data that can be displayed and the variety of possible options, make the setting of these handsets relatively complex, especially for a neophyte user.

Document EP2927791 discloses a method for setting a widget displayed in a handset from a touch screen. However, the customization is relatively limited. Some information displayed on the handset is not configurable. In particular, two counters located on either side of a central screen to display the vehicle speed and the rotation frequency of the engine and thus meet a regulatory constraint.

One of the objectives of the invention is to remedy the aforementioned problem. The invention therefore aims to provide a device for providing a graphical vehicle interface for advanced personalization of the handset while being simple to handle and while ensuring compliance with the regulatory constraints associated with a display on a handset of vehicle.

Specifically, it proposes a device for providing a graphical interface in a vehicle, configured to control the display of a plurality of graphical data display objects called "widgets" on a handset screen, characterized in that it includes a permanently displayed widget, when the first handset screen is turned on, said widget displaying at least the speed of the vehicle. The invention makes it possible to respect the regulatory constraints linked to a display on a vehicle handset by forcing the display of a dedicated widget permanently.

Advantageously, the device for providing a graphical interface according to the invention is, furthermore, configured to control the successive display of a plurality of pages on the first screen, in response to a command from a user, each of the pages comprising at least the regulatory widget.

Advantageously, the device for providing a graphical interface according to the invention is, furthermore, configured to control the display of at least one editing page on a second screen, the editing page comprising a representation of the widgets displayed on the first screen and a representation of free spaces to add new widgets. These free spaces can be arranged anywhere on the first screen.

Advantageously, the editing page displayed on the second screen includes a plurality of pages preview thumbnails displayed on the first screen, each of the thumbnails representing a simplified version of the page with which it is associated, and indicating a position of the regulatory widget. in the page associated with said thumbnail.

Advantageously, the device for providing a graphical interface according to the invention is, furthermore, configured to allow the removal of the widgets of the page except for said widget displayed permanently.

Advantageously, on the editing page displayed on the second screen, each widget, with the exception of the regulatory widget, is associated with a graphic object for deleting said widget, the device being configured to remove the widget in response to the detection. a command on said graphic object associated with said widget.

Advantageously, each widget, with the exception of the regulatory widget, being able to be moved to a space of smaller size, the device being configured to move a widget in response to the detection of a command on said widget. Figure 1 shows a vehicle interior and in particular a dashboard. The dashboard has, on the driver's side, which is in the example shown on the left side of the vehicle, an instrumentation handset 11.

The dashboard also comprises, in a central part a second screen 12. It is advantageously a touch screen.

The device according to the invention makes it possible to provide a graphical interface in the vehicle. In particular, it is configured to control the display on the first 11 and on the second screen and, in particular, to control the display of a plurality of graphic data display objects called "widgets" on the first screen 11 and at least one editing page on the second screen 12. The invention makes it possible to customize display modes of a first screen, in particular a handset. If the user wishes, he can edit the display mode of his handset by changing customizable areas called "widgets". The handset is able to display several widgets, including several sizes and representing the various functional areas available (Navigation, ADAS, Driving, Media, Etc.). The user can choose and arrange them as he sees fit.

FIG. 2a shows an example of a display of a plurality of widgets 21 on the first screen 11 and of a corresponding editing page on the screen 12.

In this example, the first screen 11 displays: - A first widget 21.1 displaying a data relating to the fuel level of the vehicle, - A second widget 21.2 displaying data relating to a distance separating the vehicle with a vehicle preceding it, - A third widget 21. 3 displaying information such as a vehicle traveling speed, a speed limit value for the speed limiter, a speed limit detected on the road segment traveled by the vehicle, and - A fourth widget 21.4 displaying guidance information.

The third widget 21.3 displays information called regulatory because their display is constrained by certain regulations. Examples include vehicle speed, speed limiter, flashing warning light reminders, flagship indicators, and so on.

The regulatory information displayed in this widget can be adapted to various national laws.

Figure 2b shows an example of a display of an edit page. The corresponding editing page displayed on the second screen 12 comprises a representation 21 '.1,21' .2, 21 '.3, 21' .4, widgets 21.1, 21.2, 21.3, 21.4, displayed on the first screen 11. It further comprises a representation of free spaces 22'.1,22'.2, 22'.3, 22'.4 to add new widgets.

These free spaces 22'.1, 22'.2, 22'.3, 22'.4 are indicated by graphic elements delimiting said free spaces. In the example, it is a border, surrounding each of said spaces.

It may be noted that said graphic elements delimiting spaces are absent from the first screen 11.

The device is configured to successively display a plurality of pages on the first screen 11. Each of the pages includes at least the regulatory widget. This feature ensures that the regulatory information is permanently displayed on the handset even if the driver changes the display of the handset.

The position of the widget on the different pages is not necessarily the same. This position can be modified by the user.

Advantageously, the editing page displayed on the second screen 12 includes a plurality of preview thumbnails of pages displayed on the first screen 11. Each of the thumbnails represents a simplified version of the page with which it is associated. Advantageously, each of the thumbnails indicates the position of the regulatory widget in the page associated with said thumbnail.

Figure 3 shows the detail of an example of a plurality of visualization thumbnails.

A first thumbnail 31.1 represents the page currently being viewed on the first screen 11. A second 31.2 and a third thumbnail 31.3 represent two other pages available for display.

Each of the thumbnails has a plurality of rectangles. These rectangles represent a widget or available space for a widget. The user can quickly know the layout of the widgets on the corresponding page.

Advantageously, each rectangle has a graphic indication indicating whether it represents a widget, a free space or the regulatory widget.

In the example, the black rectangles represent the widgets, the rectangles represent the free spaces, and the striped rectangle represents the regulatory widget. It can be noted that each of the vignettes 31.1, 31.2, 31.3. has a striped rectangle. In other words, each page displayed on the first screen 11 includes a regulatory widget. This color code is not required, it could be other colors or other graphic indications like transparency or highlight effects.

Advantageously, on the editing page displayed on the second screen 12, each widget 21 '.1,21'.2, 21'.4, with the exception of the regulatory widget, 21'.3, is associated with an object graph 23 '. 1, 23'.2, 23'.4 for deleting said widget 21'.1, 21'.2, 21 '.4, the device being configured to delete (from the first 11 and second 12 screen) the widget in response to the detection of a command on said graphic object 23'.1,23'.2, 23'.4 associated with said widget 21 '.1,21' .2, 21 '.4.

This feature ensures that the user can not delete the regulatory widget and that the edited page remains in compliance with regulatory requirements.

In the example, each widget that can be deleted (in other words, whose display can be interrupted) is associated with a graphic object, represented in the example by a circle with a cross displayed in the upper right corner of the widget, but it could be another symbol in another place.

According to one characteristic of the invention, the device is configured to, in response to the detection of a scanning gesture from a first position, on which a widget is displayed, to a second position corresponding to a free space, to control a motion of the widget, on the first 11 and the second 12 screen, from the first position to the second position.

Advantageously, each widget, with the exception of the regulatory widget, is able to be moved to a space of smaller size, the device being configured to move a widget in response to the detection of a command on said widget.

In the example of Figure 4, the editing page has three free spaces 42.1,42.2, 42.3. The first free space 42.1 is larger than the second 42.2 and third 42.3 free spaces arranged at the bottom of the editing page.

The device according to the invention is configured to allow a movement of the regulatory widget 41 to the first free space 42.1 (whose size is equal to the size of the regulatory widget), and to prohibit a movement of the regulatory widget to the second 42.2 and third 42.3 free spaces (whose size is smaller than that of the regulatory widget 41).

This feature allows the regulatory information to be displayed in a size large enough to be readable by the driver.

The handset (called first screen 11) has several display modes (or pages). The modes can be changed for example via a steering wheel control.

One of the information areas (widget), including regulatory driving information, is displayed in each display mode (or page).

Only his position can be personalized.

Other widgets are freely customizable by the user. The user can select these widgets in a predefined widget library.

A device for providing a graphical interface in a vehicle, configured to control the display of a plurality of graphical data display objects called "widgets" (21.1, 21.2, 21.3, 21.4) on a screen (11) handset, comprising a widget (21.3) permanently displayed, when the first handset display (11) is on, said widget (21.3) displaying at least the speed of the vehicle, configured to control the successive display of a plurality of pages on the first screen (11), in response to a command from a user, each of the pages comprising at least the regulatory widget, characterized in that it is further configured to control the display of at least one page on a second screen (12), the editing page comprising a representation of the widgets (2T.1, 21'.2, 21'.3, 21'.4) displayed on the first screen (11) and a representation of free spaces (22'.1, 22'.2, 22'.3, 22 .4) to add new widgets. A device for providing a graphical interface according to claim 1, characterized in that the editing page displayed on the second screen (12) comprises a plurality of thumbnail preview pages displayed on the first screen (11), each of thumbnails representing a simplified version of the page with which it is associated, and indicating a position of the regulatory widget in the page associated with said thumbnail. 3. Device for providing a graphical interface according to one of the preceding claims, characterized in that it is configured to allow the removal of the widgets of the page except for said widget (21.3) permanently displayed.
