Description
The invention relates to a printed circuit board, or PCB, carrying at least one electroluminescent diode, or LED, controlled by a control circuit. LEDs are regularly used as sources of illumination. Outside periods of controlled operation, the LEDs may be subjected to electromagnetic field (EMC) type disturbances, which may cause them to inadvertently switch on. Such inadvertent ignition can cause reactions, automatic or spontaneous, which can have damaging consequences.
To prevent this untimely ignition of a non-driven LED, it is known to place in parallel on the LED an impedance, in the form of a surface-mounted component or CMS. The interfering current is derived by the CMS, which avoids the inadvertent ignition. This arrangement of a CMS in parallel on the LED is acceptable for a single LED. In case of group of LEDs or branch of LEDs, it is very difficult to implement: for reasons of space and price, if we have a CMS LED group; or for technical and safety reasons if a CMS is available for each group of LEDs. Indeed, to ensure compliance with the rules of electromagnetic compatibility, the CMS connections must be short, and in particular, less than 0.5 mm, which makes it difficult to mount the CMS in parallel on the group of LEDs. An object of the invention is to provide means for preventing inadvertent ignition of unmanned LEDs. Another object of the invention is to ensure compliance with the rules of electromagnetic compatibility. The subject of the invention is a printed circuit board comprising at least one light source capable of being driven to emit light, said card comprising at least one conducting layer and at least one dielectric layer, characterized in that one less of said conductive layer and dielectric layer participates in the formation of a protective impedance to prevent inadvertent ignition of the at least one light source in the absence of control. Advantageously, the conductive layer is discontinuous.
Preferably, the conductive layer substantially opposes the flow of current. Advantageously, the protection impedance is a resistor. Advantageously, the card comprises a second conductive layer, said conductive layers and said dielectric layer forming at least one protective impedance. Preferably, the dielectric layer is located between the two conductive layers. Advantageously, each protection impedance is a capacitance. Preferably, each capacity is about 1.7 nF / cm 2. Advantageously, the thickness of the dielectric layer is less than or equal to 20 μm, preferably less than or equal to 10 μm, preferably less than or equal to 8 μm. Advantageously, the dielectric layer comprises ceramic. Preferably, the conductive layers are made of copper. Advantageously, since the number of light sources is greater than 1, the number of protection impedances is equal to the number of light sources. Preferably, each protection impedance protects a light source. Advantageously, the conductive layers forming impedance are disjoint. Advantageously, the conductive layers of the same impedance overlap at least partially. Preferably, the number of light sources being greater than 1, a single protection impedance is achieved for all the light sources.
Advantageously, the light sources are connected in series so as to form a branch of light sources. Preferably, the branch is protected by said protection impedance.
Advantageously, the upper or lower layers of at least two impedances are contiguous. Preferably the remaining layers, respectively lower or upper are isolated from each other. Advantageously, the protection impedance is achieved over the entire area of the card. Advantageously, the light source comprises a semiconductor emitter chip, in particular an LED.
The invention further relates to a light module, including lighting and / or signaling for a motor vehicle, comprising a printed circuit board as described above. Other features and advantages of the invention appear from the following description given with reference to the accompanying drawings in which: - Figure 1 is a schematic sectional view of a printed circuit board carrying an LED, the impedance of protection being a capacity performed on the upper and lower layers of the map. FIG. 2 is a view similar to that of FIG. 1, the protection impedance being a capacitance produced on two intermediate layers of the card. FIG. 3 is a view similar to that of FIG. 2, the protection impedance being a resistance made on an intermediate layer of the card. FIG. 4 is a view similar to that of FIG. 1, the card carrying two LEDs, the protection impedance for each of the LEDs being a capacitance made on the upper and lower layers of the card. FIG. 5 is a view similar to that of FIG. 2, the card carrying two LEDs, the protection impedance for each of the LEDs being a capacitance produced on two intermediate layers of the card. - Figure 6 is a view similar to that of Figure 3, the card carrying two LEDs, the protection impedance for each of the LEDs being a resistance made on an intermediate layer of the card. FIG. 7 is a view similar to that of FIG. 4, the card carrying a branch of LEDs, the protection impedance being a capacitance made on the upper and lower layers of the card. - Figure 8 is a view similar to that of Figure 2, the card carrying a branch of LEDs, the protection impedance being a capacitor made on two intermediate layers of the card. FIG. 9 is a view similar to that of FIG. 3, the card carrying a branch of LEDs, the protection impedance being a resistance made on an intermediate layer of the card. A printed circuit board 1 has an upper layer 2 and a lower layer 3 provided with a conductive coating, for example made of copper. It carries a light source 4, for example an LED 4 controlled by a control circuit not shown. To prevent accidental switching on of the LED when it is not controlled, a protective impedance is connected in parallel to the LED. In FIG. 1, the protection impedance is a capacitance whose reinforcements are made on the upper 2 and lower 3 layers of the card 1. The reinforcement made on the upper layer 2 of the card is connected for example to the anode of the LED 4, and the armature made on the lower layer 3 of the card is connected to the cathode of the LED 4. The space defined in dashed lines in Figure 1 corresponds to the capacity 5 buried in the card 1. In FIG. 2, the card 1 comprises two intermediate layers 6 and 7, separated by a dielectric layer 10, for example doped with ceramic, with a thickness less than or equal to 20 μm, preferably less than or equal to 10 μm, of preferably less than or equal to 8 μm. The dielectric layer 10 may for example comprise barium titanate (BaTiO3). The intermediate layer 6 is connected to the LED 4, for example to the anode, and the intermediate layer 7 is connected to the cathode. The space delimited in dashed lines in FIG. 2 corresponds to the capacity 8 buried in the card 1. In FIG. 3, the intermediate layer 6, for example, carries a resistor 9 which constitutes the protective impedance of the LED 4. The resistor 9 is made for example by replacing the surface conductive coating of the intermediate layer 6 with an organic coating. The resistor 9 is buried in the card 1. In FIGS. 4 to 6, the printed circuit board 1 carries two LEDs 4 and 4a. For each of these two LEDs, a provision similar to that of Figures 1 to 3 is provided. In FIG. 4, the buried capacities 5 and 5a are situated between the upper 2 and lower 3 layers.
In FIG. 5, the buried capacities 8 and 8a are situated between the two intermediate layers 6 and 7. In FIG. 6, the buried resistors 9 and 9a are located one, 9, on the intermediate layer 6, the other , 9a, on the intermediate layer 7. The embodiment of Figures 4 to 6 is not limited to two LEDs, but also covers a number greater than 2 LEDs. When there are several protection impedances on the same card, the conductive layers forming impedances are disjoint. In the case where the protective impedance is a capacitance, each impedance comprises an upper layer and a lower layer. Advantageously, the upper or lower layers of at least two impedances are contiguous. In this case, the remaining layers, respectively lower or higher, are isolated from each other. In FIGS. 7 to 9, the printed circuit board 1 carries a plurality of LEDs connected in series to form a LED branch and the protection impedance is designed for the entire LED branch. The branch of LEDs includes several LEDs 4 to 4n, with a number of LEDs that can be of the order of one hundred. In the case of FIGS. 4 and 6, it is also planned to replace each LED by a branch of LEDs, so as to have on the same card two separate branches of LEDs each having its protection impedance, for example a branch of six LEDs. with a protection impedance and a branch of four LEDs with a protection impedance.
The protective impedance of the LEDs against inadvertent ignition is carried out according to the same principle as in Figures 1 to 3. The dimensions of the protection impedance are a function of the number of LEDs in the branch. For example, if the internal capacity of an LED is 1 nF, the buried protection capacity in the card 1 must be greater than 1 nF. The capacity between two intermediate layers such as 6 and 7 being of the order of 1 nF / cm 2, the area necessary to achieve the protection capacity is determinable depending on the number of LEDs of the branch. This surface may be delimited by cutting the conductive surface coating of the intermediate layer. The same applies to the case of the protective resistor, the conductive surface coating being replaced by an organic coating on the determined surface of an intermediate layer. To ensure that a light source, in the absence of control, does not ignite inadvertently, the protective impedance placed in parallel on the light source is lower than the impedance of the light source itself . The value of the protection impedance depends on the LED to be protected and its frequency range of susceptibility.
In the case of a resistance impedance constituted by a resistor, the value of this resistance is a few milliohms. In the case of a protection impedance constituted by a capacitance, the capacitance buried in the printed circuit board guarantees a low impedance. The capacitance is formed between two conductive layers which overlap at least partially. The overlap surface of the conductive layers determines the value of the capacitance. Advantageously, the protection impedance is achieved over the entire area of the printed circuit board.
According to one embodiment of the invention, the light source carried by the printed circuit board comprises a semiconductor emitter chip, in particular an LED. The invention also covers a light module, particularly lighting and / or signaling for a motor vehicle, comprising a printed circuit board as described above.
