Abstract

The device has an immobilization unit (110) located in a telematics module (102) of an electric vehicle (10). Another immobilization unit (112) is located in a calculating module (100) of the vehicle and controlled by the former immobilization unit. A control line disconnecting module (114) is controlled by the latter immobilization unit, and inhibits charging of a rechargeable traction battery of the vehicle to immobilize the vehicle. The former immobilization unit is controlled by an external host (20). An independent claim is also included for a method for remote immobilization of an electric vehicle.
