Abstract

The method involves emitting an acoustic wave with excitation electrical pulse by exciting a transmitter (10). Time at which end point of the electrical pulse exceeds transmission threshold value is selected as transmission time of the wave. Time at which a representative value of receiving voltage exceeds receive threshold value is selected a receiving time. Flow rate of fluid associated with measuring transducers is calculated from wave transit time, distance (dm) traveled by the wave, velocity of the fluid and oblique angle (Am). An independent claim is also included for a device for determining flow rate of a fluid flowing in flow direction of a pipe section.
