Abstract

The system has vertical siphoide walls (6, 7) for entrapping hydrocarbon, where the walls are made of PVC. Beads (2) made of hydrophobic and lipophilic fibers permit absorption of the hydrocarbon located on surface of rain water in roadways and parking. The beads are fixed with fixation rings (3) provided in a drainage inspection opening (1) using stainless chains (4) and hooks (5).

Description

The present invention relates to a system of gates or gullies for rainwater pavements and car parks for the recovery and retention of suspended hydrocarbons in the recovered water, by associating with the siphoid systems hydrophobic and lipophilic fiber rods . There are manholes with siphoid systems to trap suspended hydrocarbons in rainwater because of their density. These systems have the disadvantage of allowing the hydrocarbons in suspension to cross the siphoid walls during heavy rains because of the eddies caused by the fall of water. Part of the hydrocarbons driven to the bottom of the eyes can cross the siphoid walls. In addition, in the event of charging the network, suspended hydrocarbons trapped by the siphoid walls are entrained with the surface waters of the roadways and car parks. Effluent de-oilers are also used which are effective but which are very often equipped with a storm weir, which allows some of the hydrocarbons to pass during heavy rains. These disadvantages can lead to pollution if the devices are located prior to discharge to the natural environment. The invention overcomes the drawbacks of traditional systems due to the introduction into manholes flanges of hydrophobic and lipophilic fibers attached to the walls, provided with rings and chains, by carabiners and allowing the retention of hydrocarbons.

The fiber rods are distributed by the Musthane Company, a company specialized in the recovery of hydrocarbons. The manholes are made of prefabricated concrete or any other material such as PVC, polyester, etc., and equipped with siphoid systems consisting of vertical walls or PVC tee with 30 removable covers for cleaning. Decantations, for the recovery of sludge and sands loaded with heavy metals, are provided in manholes. The manholes can receive grids or drains of suitable dimensions.

35 They can be single or double effect siphoid (more effective), in this case they will be equipped with a hermetic buffer for cleaning. The manholes are equipped with rings and stainless chains allowing the fixing of hydrophobic and lipophilic fiber bundles with the carabiners fixed to the latter. The flanges are fixed so that they can float and absorb hydrocarbons that are on the surface of the water given their density. The sizing and the number of manholes will depend on the 5 surfaces of roadways and car parks whose rainwater must be recovered, with a minimum of 60cmx 60cm. It is the same for the sausages whose diameters and lengths will be adapted to the glances. Hydrophobic and lipophilic fibers have the particularity of absorbing hydrocarbons only and from contact with them. They can absorb and retain up to 25 times their own weight in hydrocarbons, smaller flanges allowing a retention of about 10 liters of hydrocarbons. The maintenance of grid eyes is easy, it is enough either to change the tubes for a very low cost, or to disassemble them to wring and replace them, the carabiners and the chains allowing to do it easily. Four diagrams of appended schematic diagrams illustrate the invention. Each board represents the schematic diagram of the system for several view variants, with single or double siphoid effect. The schematic diagrams show the manholes (1), the hydrophobic and lipophilic fiber rods (2), the fixing rings (3), the stainless steel chains (4), the location of the carabiners on the rods (5), the siphoid walls (6) or siphoid tees (7), overflow by PVC pipe (8), settling pits (9), removable covers (10), grids (11) and buffers (12). The invention is suitable for industrial application, especially for companies specializing in the prefabrication of manholes concrete, PVC or any other material that can be molded. The invention is intended for the development of new roads, car parks or the redevelopment of existing pavements and car parks in order to improve the situation with regard to hydrocarbon pollution.
