Abstract

The friction part has a conical shaped unitary washer with friction tongues (2) that are in contact with an element (A). A maintaining unit maintains the part in a position with respect to a receiving element (C) and the element (A). The washer has an internal gear (1) carrying the tongues extended radially towards centre of the washer. Arms (3) have a central recess receiving an axis. A branch incorporates the washer with the tongues, and another branch is extended in a plane parallel to the former branch. An independent claim is also included for an element assembly comprising an articulation.

Description

 Friction piece and friction piece support assembly for a two-component assembly

The invention relates to a friction piece in the screwed assemblies and, where appropriate, its support assembly. Screw connections require some tension on the connecting elements to prevent relative sliding of the assembled parts during use. It is desired, both for reasons of size and cost, to reduce this tension so as not to exaggerate the dimensions of both the assembled parts and connecting means such as, for example, threaded rods or nuts. To do this, it is necessary to increase the coefficient of friction between the assembled parts. A first known solution consists in creating serrations on at least one of the assembled parts. These serrations are encrusted in the assembled parts vis-à-vis during tightening. In this embodiment, the presence of serrations on the inner frame of the elastic hinge complicates the molding operation of the hinge member, generally consisting of a rubber, as well as the tooling involved in this operation. . A second existing solution is to interpose between the assembled parts a washer having a raised serration on each of its faces. This is, among other things, used in fixing steering mechanisms on cradles in the field of motor vehicles. If this type of relatively thick washer gives relatively satisfactory in this area, for the shim and anti-slip functions, its use in another context may cause mounting difficulties because the washer has no device automatic hold in place. The document FR-A-2,347,564 describes an assembly device with a clevis-shaped yoke with two branches between which is disposed a central piece and a threaded hinge pin cooperating with a nut, the axis of articulation passing through the clevis and the central piece, the nut comprising an elastic washer threaded about the hinge axis, passing through a housing pierced in said branch and penetrating between the two branches of the yoke by pressing on the central piece to ensure the tightening of the whole. It should be noted that the two washers described in this document do not have contact means to ensure a maintenance of the washer in position.

The object of the present invention is to provide a friction element which is both simple to manufacture and simple to mount while ensuring that it is held in position after having been put in place.

For this purpose, the subject of the invention is a friction piece intended to be traversed by a first element and to exert an action of maintaining it with respect to a second element, this part comprising a washer with tongues of friction in contact with the first element, characterized in that it comprises means for holding in position relative to one of the two elements.

Advantageously, the washer comprises a peripheral ring bearing at least two tongues extending radially towards the center of the washer, thus delimiting the passage for the first element. In a first embodiment of the part, the ring is flat and further comprises at least two auxiliary tongues extending perpendicular to the plane of this ring, these auxiliary tabs ensuring the maintenance of the workpiece on the first element. In a second embodiment of the invention, the friction piece comprises a first branch carrying the washer and a second branch extending substantially in a plane parallel to the first branch with a spacing between them for receiving a part. the second element. Advantageously, the washer is of conical shape. The invention also relates to a support assembly of friction parts, characterized in that it comprises a connecting element and, at each of its longitudinal ends, such a friction piece. Advantageously, the support assembly of friction parts has the shape of a U, the parts forming the branches of this U extending substantially perpendicularly to the connecting element forming the base of this U. The invention concerns in addition, a receiving element with at least one friction piece or a friction piece support assembly interposed between the receiving element and a first element connected to this receiving element, characterized in that it comprises two arm extending its lateral sides, each of the arms having a central recess around which is positioned a friction piece, this part being a friction piece as described above or part of such a support assembly of parts. The invention also relates to an assembly of a first element with respect to a second element, these two elements having an articulation between them, characterized in that the second element is a reception element as previously defined and the first element comprises a part having an articulation housed between the two arms of the second element.

Preferably, the assembly has its articulation having an axis of articulation on each of its sides turned towards an arm of the first receiving element, each of the axes passing through the recess of the corresponding arm, the washer or the washers carried by the part or the support assembly being positioned on this axis in frictional contact therewith. The invention finally relates to a motor vehicle, characterized in that it comprises at least one such assembly.

The invention will now be described in more detail but in a nonlimiting manner with reference to the appended figures, in which: FIG. 1 is a diagrammatic representation in perspective of a unitary friction washer with tongues extending radially in the direction the center of the washer, this washer being known from the state of the art; FIG. 2 is a diagrammatic representation in perspective of a clevis receiving the friction washer according to FIG. 1; FIG. schematic perspective view of an embodiment of a friction piece according to the present invention, this piece being in the form of a clamp and incorporating the washer according to Figure 1, - Figure 4 is a schematic representation of a yoke, receiving the friction piece according to FIG. 3; FIG. 5 is a diagrammatic representation in perspective of a support assembly of friction parts according to FIG. 3, this support assembly forming part of the present invention; FIG. 6 is a diagrammatic representation of a screed, receiving the support assembly of friction parts according to FIG. 3; FIG. 7 is a diagrammatic representation in FIG. perspective of another embodiment of the friction piece according to the present invention with a unitary friction washer having radially extending tongues and axially extending tongues; FIG. 8 is a diagrammatic representation; of a body with a hinge bearing on each of its lateral sides an axis with a friction piece according to FIG. 7 positioned on this axis, this figure illustrating a part of the assembly according to the present invention, - FIG. a schematic representation of a yoke and a body with a hinge bearing on each of its lateral axes a friction washer according to FIG. 7 , this figure illustrating the assembly according to the present invention.

All parts or support assembly of friction washers described in the figures are embodiments of the invention. These embodiments do not constitute a limitation of the present invention which includes other embodiments of parts or support assembly comprising washers, these washers being provided with tongues for frictional contact with an element which must be limited. relative slip.

FIG. 1 shows a known unitary friction washer comprising a ring 1. This ring 1 carries tongues 2 extending radially towards the center of the washer. The length of these tongues is determined so that these tongues cooperate with the outer surface of the element to be held in position.

Thus, each tongue 2 acts as a tooth and is embedded in this element passing through the ring 1 of the washer.

The major advantage of such a washer is its manufacture at lower cost by simple cutting in a sheet which is less thick than a washer of the state of the art and therefore has a lower price and weight. The major disadvantage of such a washer is that it can not ensure its maintenance in place by its own means.

FIG. 2 shows a washer 1 of unit friction according to FIG. 1 positioned on a yoke C forming the receiving element of this washer 1. This yoke C has on each of its longitudinal sides an arm 3 extending the respective side. Each of the arms 3 has a central recess 4, intended to receive an axis, this recess being surrounded by the unit friction washer 1 with its radial tongues 2 in contact with the axis passing through the recess 4, thus exerting their frictional action. on this axis. The axis passing through this central recess is not shown in this figure. On this axis, is positioned the washer with its tongues being encrusted in the periphery of the axis. It will be noted that there is no means of keeping in place this known washer on the yoke C which poses a major problem.

To solve this problem, the present invention relates to a friction piece, intended to be traversed by a first element and to exert an action of maintaining it with respect to a second element, this part comprising a washer with friction tongues. in contact with the first element, characterized in that it comprises holding means in position relative to one of the two elements.

Figure 3 shows a friction piece in the form of a clamp. This piece illustrates an embodiment according to the present invention. This friction piece is intended to be traversed by a first element and to exert an action of maintaining it with respect to a second element, which will be better seen in the following figures. This part has a U-shape with two branches 5 and 6. One of the branches 5 incorporates the washer described in Figure 1 with radial tongues 2. The other branch 6, said auxiliary branch, is pierced by a corresponding central recess to the central recess 4 of the yoke described in Figure 2 and realizing the second element. Thus, such a friction piece has a branch 6 cooperating with that 5 carrying the washer with its ring 1 to clamp the second element on which it is mounted. This allows her to keep herself in place.

Figure 4 shows the friction piece according to Figure 3 positioned on a yoke C forming the receiving element of this part, previously called second element. As for Figure 2, This yoke C has on each of its longitudinal sides an arm 3 extending the respective side. The spacing between the branches 5 and 6 of the friction piece is calculated to allow the insertion of the arm 3 between these branches being reduced enough to pinch the arm 3 between the two branches 5 and 6. Each of the arms 3 has a central recess 4, intended to receive the first element, for example in the form of an axis, not shown in this figure, the unit friction washer with its radial tongues 2 being pressed against the inner edge of the arm. As previously indicated, this recess 4 corresponds to the recess of the auxiliary branch 6 of the friction piece and the axis passing through this recess is in contact with the radial tongues 2 which thus exert their friction action on the axis.

FIG. 5 is a diagrammatic representation in perspective of a support assembly 7 of friction parts according to FIG. 3. This support assembly 7 comprises a rectangle-shaped connection element with an empty central part surrounded by two longitudinal edges 7 'and 7 "joined by two lateral edges, on each lateral side of this connecting element and perpendicular to the plane thereof, extend the two friction parts with their branches 5 and 6 according to FIG.

FIG. 6 shows a schematic representation of a yoke, receiving the support assembly 7 of friction parts according to FIG. 5. With the exception of the connecting element, the characteristics of the yoke and the friction parts remain the same as for Figure 4. The connecting element and the two parts are advantageously monobloc and thus form a unitary support assembly. Such an assembly makes it possible to mount two friction parts in a single assembly. It is possible to realize, in the case of an assembly with several axes, a meeting on the same support assembly of as many sets of tabs as necessary.

Figure 7 shows a friction piece according to another embodiment of the present invention. This friction piece has a unit washer comprising a ring 1. This ring 1 carries tongues 2 extending radially towards the center of the washer and auxiliary tongues 9 extending perpendicular to the plane of this washer. The auxiliary tongues 9 exert an action of holding the workpiece on the element passing through it, referred to previously as the first element, contrary to the embodiment previously described in FIGS. 4 and 6, where the holding was carried out with respect to the coping C, illustrating the second element.

FIG. 8 is a schematic representation of a body A, forming the first element, with a hinge A 'receiving on each side an axis carrying a friction washer with a ring 1 according to FIG. 7. As previously indicated the radial tongues 2 act as teeth and become embedded in the element to be joined, that is to say the axis passing through the ring 1 of the washer, while the auxiliary tongues 9 ensure the maintenance of the friction piece on the articulation A '.

FIG. 9 is a schematic representation of the fully assembled mechanical assembly with a yoke C, forming the second element, and a body A, forming the first element, having a hinge A 'bearing on each of the lateral ends a friction washer with a ring 1 according to Figure 7. Each of the axes 11 is held in position by the locking of a bolt 10 or 10 'against the outer face of the arm 3. The axis 11 therefore comprises at its end a thread for the reception of This bolt 10. It is emphasized that this arrangement is also valid for the embodiments which are shown in Figures 2, 4 and 6 although they do not show the body A and the bolt 10 or 10 '.

In what has been described, it should be noted that the number of tongues of the washers of the friction parts is variable.

In the other possibilities included in the invention, the radial tongues may also have another orientation, for example being parallel to each other or perpendicular to the direction of a force to be transmitted. It is also possible to use, for the friction parts according to the present invention, conical-type friction washers, in particular in the embodiments of FIGS. 3 and 5. It is possible to integrate a nut cage function in the modes embodiment of Figures 3 and 5. The body A with a hinge may be, for example and without limitation, an element of any arm or wishbone with, for illustration, a connection with a front cradle, or a rear crossmember of a motor vehicle. For example, in the automotive field, which is not the only field of application of the present invention, such a friction device can find, inter alia, an application for a front axle, a pivot support for the front wheel or a front train articulation.

The advantages of the present invention are numerous. Among other things, in addition to the main advantage of maintaining the position of the friction piece, it will be possible to mention: - an ease of manufacture in the case of the replacement of serrations integrated in one of the parts of the assembly, - for the modes embodiment of Figures 7 and 8, an ease of implementation in the case of replacing an intermediate washer, - a saving in weight in the case of replacing an intermediate washer.

The invention is in no way limited to the described and illustrated embodiments which have been given by way of example only.

Claims (9)
