The present invention relates to a mounting clamp for an interior rear view mirror of a motor vehicle, and more particularly to an automobile interior mirror rearview mirror arm.
The rear view mirror is a manual operation performed by an operator. The interior mirror arm is adapted to be mounted on the windshield of the vehicle by means of a mirror base which is generally adhered to the inner surface of the windshield. There are several types of rear view mirror mounting on a base attached to the windshield of the vehicle. In the case of mounting the mirror by sliding, by interlocking in grooves formed in the base (described for example in FR2456640), it is necessary for the operator to provide a force called mounting force. A problem is that this mounting effort becomes more and more important, since the attachment of the rear-view mirror must comply with an increasingly high resistance to tearing. The manual operation is still possible, however it is quickly tiring, and the mounting effort may have to exceed the recommendations. The invention aims to overcome this drawback, and provides for this purpose a mounting clamp of a motor vehicle rearview mirror arm in a base, the clamp comprising two branches of clamps interconnected by a joint and intersecting at the level of the articulation, the branches each having a manual gripping portion and a jaw, one of the jaws being able to bear on the rear part of the mirror arm, and the other jaw comprising means for bearing on the base and passing under the arm of the mirror. But other features and advantages of the invention will appear on reading the detailed description which follows. For its understanding, reference will be made to the following figures Figure 1 is a schematic representation of the clamp according to the invention, as well as the mirror arm and the base; Figure 2 is a schematic representation in section along the axis of sliding of the inner mirror arm on the base. The mounting clamp 1 according to the invention comprises two branches of clamps 20 and 30 interconnected by a hinge. The two branches 20 and 30 intersect at the joint. The joint may consist of a crimped shaft ensuring the pivoting of the two clamp branches 20 and 30. The clamp 1 may be made of plastic, so as to be light and not to present any risk of scratching on the windshield. when it is brought into contact with the latter. The branches 20 and 30 each comprise a manual gripping portion 21 and 31 and a jaw 22 and 32. The jaw 22 of the first leg 20 can form a U. The base 23 of the U can be flat, and is intended to bear on the rear part of the mirror housing 2. According to a complementary aspect of the invention, the base 23 of the U may comprise a pad 24 for protecting the rear part of the mirror arm 2, taken with respect to the direction of movement of the mirror arm 2 for its mounting. The shoe 24 can be glued to the base 23 of the U. The jaw 32 of the second leg 30 can also form a U, and comprises means for bearing on a base 3 and passing under the arm 2 of the mirror. This means comprises in the figures a heel 34, protruding inside the space formed by the jaws 22 and 32. In Figure 2, the heel 34 protrudes from the surface of the base 33 of the U-shaped the interior of the space formed by the jaws 22 and 32, and is intended to bear on the front face of the base 3, taken with respect to the direction of displacement of the mirror arm 2 for its mounting. One of the advantages of the invention is that the sliding mounting forces of the mirror, or more precisely the rearview mirror arm 2, can be considerably reduced to meet the recommendations. The forces can also be adapted according to the length of the manual gripping portions 21 and 31 of the tweezers 20 and 30 for making the lever arm. Another advantage of the present invention is that the mounting operation is more reliable, since the sliding mounting force is now supported by the base, whereas in the case of a hand-mounting without clamp 1, the The sliding mounting force is supported by the windshield, and the glue in the case of a glued base 3. The heel 34 is in the lower part of the jaw 32, that is to say at or near the surface of the jaw 32 intended to bear against the window. The thickness of the heel 34 is such that it can be inserted under the arm 2 of the mirror. It can be between 1 and 3 mm, and also depends on the material used. The arm 2 of the mirror can define an opening of discrete dimensions for the driver of the vehicle, to help the passage of the heel 34, the height of the opening being less than or equal to the height of the heel 34. The length of the heel 34 can be defined so that the arm 2 of the mirror comes into abutment against the base 3, before the front part of the mirror arm 2 2 is in contact with the jaw 32, thus ensuring that the mirror is correctly mounted. As a result, the jaw 32 does not have a function of gripping the mirror arm 2 and can only be used to make the connection between the heel 34 and the manual gripping portion 31. In the case where a stop is not present between the mirror arm 2 and the base 3, it is the clip itself that can determine the final position of the mirror arm. In this case, the length of the heel 34 will be determined so that when the rearview mirror arm 2 is engaged in the two jaws 22 and 32, it will be in the correct final mounting position. The heel 34 may be of plastic material, and may be molded directly with the clamp branch 30. It may also consist of an added element which is fixed to the jaw 32. To proceed with the mounting of the rearview mirror, the operator may start with a so-called pre-assembly operation in which it engages the mirror arm 2 in the base 3 fixed to the windshield of the vehicle. The operator then carries out the operation of final positioning of the mirror arm 2, in which he can place the jaw 22 (called mobile for the mounting operation), the heel 34 and / or the jaw 32 (according to FIG. the height position of the heel 34 relative to the jaw 32) on the surface of the windshield and around the mirror arm 2, then placing the end of the heel 34 in contact with the front portion of the base 3. And finally, by tightening the parts 21 and 31 of manual entry, slide or fit the arm 2 of the mirror until the latter is in abutment or in the required final position. According to a complementary aspect of the clamp according to the invention, to facilitate the work of the operator, the manual gripping parts 21 and 31 may be in a plane offset from the plane in which the jaws 22 and 32 move. at least a distance provided for the passage of the fingers of the user when the jaws 22 and 32 rest against the windshield of the vehicle. This distance can be for example at least 50 mm. Similarly, the manual gripping portions 21 and 31 may be in a plane angularly offset, relative to the plane in which the jaws 22 and 32 move, for example at an angle of between 10 and 20 degrees. It is also possible to combine the angular offset and the distance offset for better ergonomics.
