1 "Motor vehicle arrangement for pedestrian protection in case
  The invention relates to a motor vehicle arrangement for protecting pedestrians in the event of a frontal impact and more particularly to an arrangement of the type comprising: a support element in the form of a deformable beam of generally transverse and horizontal orientation, a lining member of the beam and a compartment containing an airbag arranged between the lining element and the transverse deformable beam and which is adapted to deploy in response to the detection of imminent shock; a shock bar which is arranged parallel and vertically below said beam, such an arrangement is, in known manner, mounted on a motor vehicle so as to limit the risk of injuring a pedestrian having been struck by the vehicle so that the cushion inflatable inflatable to absorb some of the energy produced by the shock and the bar of shocks preventing the leg of the pedestrian from going under the vehicle.
Safety standards and guidelines for pedestrians require significant modifications to the front of the vehicle, which often limits the design possibilities of the vehicle. In order to answer this problem, the present invention proposes an arrangement for the protection of pedestrians in the event of a frontal impact of the type described above, characterized in that the shock bar comprises at least one transverse section which is capable of undergoing a collision. longitudinal translation from a rear rest position to a front position so as to dampen the impact of a pedestrian and whose translation is triggered at the same time as the deployment of the airbag.
