Description

ERGONOMIC ADAPTER FOR ESTABLISHED

  The present invention relates to an ergonomic adapter for adjusting the height of the workbench of a bench to the different sizes of its users.

  Some people find it difficult to work on a bench with standard dimensions (worktop located 0.9 meters above the ground) because of their size.

  The morphology very different from one individual to another, leads us to note differences in size up to more than 40 cm.

  For an individual whose height is between 1.55 m and 1.75 m, the standard work plan is satisfactory.

  For an individual whose height is between 1.80 m and 1.95 m, great difficulties of adaptation of their body to the workstation occur, and may cause them low back pain.

  To adjust the height of the worktop to their size, some place shims (pieces of planks) under the feet of the bench, if they have them available.

  The adapter according to the invention, easy to adapt to any joiner's bench, allows multiple levels of adjustment: 0.900 m from the ground (standard base level) 0.950 m from the ground (intermediate level) 1.000 m from the ground ground (maximum level) If the user wants to adapt very precisely the height of his worktop, it is possible to adjust it centimeter by centimeter.

  The invention will now be explained in more detail with the aid of the accompanying figures and drawings in which: FIG. 1 is an overview of the workbench.

  This adapter is made of wood parts and metal parts.

  The wooden parts consist of two H (A) formed by two uprights and a cross member, assembled by tenons and mortises, in which are arranged a light (1) for sliding locking screws (11) a groove (2) female dovetail shaped, male dovetail-shaped slides (4), a hole (3) 4 cm deep and 20 mm in diameter drilled on the upper field of the crosspiece.

  Two high crosspieces (B) are drilled with a hole 25 mm in diameter over their entire width and in their axis.

  The metal parts consist of two screws (5) of the carpenter's bench press screw type, two nuts (6) of the joiner's press nut type, two plates (7) located on the top of the crosspieces (B), four tightening screws and nuts (8), two steel plates (9) positioned at the bottom of the holes (3), two balls (10) of the pinball ball type placed in the holes (3) and on the plates (9) previously positioned, 4 locking screws (11) with butterfly or knurled buttons and cranks, or handles, to actuate the screw (5) The plates (9) are intended to prevent crushing of the wood when the screw (5) bears on the steel ball (10) to lift the workbench. The balls (10) have the role of reducing the friction of moving and supporting parts. The four locking screws (11) serve to lock and stabilize the workbench in the desired position.

  The user operates the crank to move up or down the workbench. The operation is as follows: Beforehand the two crosspieces (B) are fixed on the workbench.

    The female dovetail slides are also attached to the bottom of the four legs of the bench.

    The parts in H (A) are nested in the rails in the form of dovetail (4) fixed beforehand (the addition of paraffin is recommended to ensure the smooth sliding of the assembly.) By acting on the crank , the screw (5) bears on the ball (10) placed at the bottom of the hole and the work bench slides through the slides (4) fixed on its feet.

    The worktop is adjusted to the correct height, and the screws (11) are locked with the knurled knobs to stabilize the assembly.
