Abstract

The board has cubes representing units (1), plates representing tens (2), hundreds (3) and thousands, operational signs (5) and a rod (6), which are suspended with suspension cylinders rounded at their projecting ends or are fixed by gripping fabrics. The cubes, plates, signs and rod have coloring of the shade as that of the locations where they are affixed on the table. Three telescopic legs are placed at the rear side of the board.

Description

The present invention relates to a teaching tool that allows

  the teaching of the operative technique of addition, subtraction and multiplication, to school pupils or to any other person.

  Its operating principle is: that numbers and numbers are materialized by objects or digital maps on a board, organized according to the plan of a posed operation.

  This spatial manipulation accompanies the reasoning of the operative technique, to facilitate understanding and acquisition.

  We use either objects (symbols of units, tens, hundreds and thousands), or digital maps, as well as operative signs. The logic of this operating table is that we first use the symbolic objects, then, once acquired this first step, the digital maps; this step bringing the student to the written operation written.

  The attached drawings illustrate the invention: FIG. 1 represents in front view all the removable materials (digital cards, symbolic objects, operating signs). Figure 2 shows a front view of the operating table, naked.

  All removable materials of the operating board are made of wood or plastic.

  The units (1) are materialized by cubes of 10 mm dark blue side. One face of each cube is covered by gluing of tissue gripping (this allows to fix them on the board or on the plates representing tens).

  The tens (2) are materialized by inserts 145 mm long, 30 mm wide, 4 mm thick and pierced at one end with a hole 10 mm in diameter (this allows them to hang on the board procedure). They are bright yellow. One of these platelets is covered on one side with a gripping fabric. We can thus fix 10 cubes (units) to materialize and demonstrate its decimal value.

  Hundreds (3) are materialized by plates 145 mm long, 85 mm wide, 4 mm thick and pierced at one end with a hole 10 mm in diameter. They are dark green.

  Thousands (4) are materialized by plates 145 mm long, 85 mm wide, 4 mm thick and pierced at one end with a hole 10 mm in diameter. They are orange.

  For the tens and hundreds, the thicknesses indicated must be strictly observed.

  2880723 _2_ Operational signs (5) + (plus), (minus), = (equals), x (multiply) are red.

  Their approximate dimensions are: For signs + and x: thickness 4 mm, height and width 70 mm, width of branches 5 20 mm.

  For the sign: thickness 4 mm, length 70 mm, width 20mm.

  For the sign =: two red bands separated by a white band on a wafer 70 mm long, 50 mm wide and 4 mm thick.

  These four signs all have on their back a piece of gripping fabric, which allows to fix them to the operating board in the places provided for this purpose.

  A rod (6) of wood or plastic, 400 mm long, 10 mm wide and black color, separates in the vertical direction the operator numbers of the result. It is called the calculation bar (6). It is, like the signs, provided on its back, and at both ends, with gripping tissue pads and can therefore be arranged on the operating board at different heights. It is superimposed on the black lines that separate the horizontal stripes of the painting.

  The digital cards (7) are 120 mm long, 60 mm wide and all have on their front an Arabic numeral (0 to 9) white on a blue background for the units, bright yellow for the tens, green for the hundreds and orange for the thousands. The boundary between the white area and the color area may be marked with a black line.

  The yellow cards of tens, green hundreds, and orange of thousands, are pierced in their upper part, above the number they carry, a hole of 10 mm in diameter which allows them to hang, each in their clean column, on the board. The blue cards of the units are provided on their verso with a gripping cloth pad which makes it possible to fix them in the column of the units (12) of the operating board.

  The operating panel is in the form of a panel (34) of wood or plastic. Its dimensions are: height 880 mm, width 400 mm, thickness 10 mm.

  It has on its back side three telescopic legs (8 and 9) to adjust its height and therefore use it on a table or on the floor. The middle foot (9) is articulated at its point of attachment to the panel, to choose the inclination of the latter. The panel (34) is also provided in its upper part on its rear face, two screw bolts (10). It can thus be suspended from the hooks usually installed above the classboards in the schools.

  On its front panel, the board (34) is divided into five areas distinguished by colors. In its upper part, a horizontal white band (11) 400 mm wide and 80 mm high. In this band are fixed the letters U (units), D (tens) and C 2880723 -3- (hundreds) above the corresponding columns. They are made of wood or plastic, have dimensions approximately 40 mm in height, 35 mm in width and are black in color.

  Under this band, the table (34) is divided into four vertical columns, each 800 mm in height. From the right to the left, they are: for pale blue units (12), for pale yellow tens (13), for pale green hundreds (14). The last column, white (15), contains the various operative signs and possibly the thousands.

  The columns have the following widths: pale blue column: 70 mm pale yellow column: 100 mm pale green column: 110 mm white column: 120 mm These four different columns are divided in the vertical direction by four horizontal black lines (16) of 3 mm thick (each of the first three lines from the bottom is equipped at its two extremities with a small pad of fabric gripping (17) to fix the bar at the desired height). The table (34) thus presents five superimposed horizontal bands, each containing four colored boxes from right to left in: blue, yellow, green, and white.

  Each band may contain a number and has a height of about 160 mm.

  The bands are named in the present description of the first from the bottom to the last at the top: tape number 1, tape number 2, tape number 3, tape number 4, and tape number 5.

  In the pale blue column (12), the different boxes (floors) are glued with a piece of rectangular white gripping fabric (18) 125 mm long and 45 mm wide, centered in the box. It will be possible to fix the blue cubes (1) of the units or the blue numerical maps (7) of the units.

  In the blue box of the band number 4 is fixed, in its upper left part, a cylinder of wood or plastic (19) 6 mm in diameter and 20 mm in length. It allows to add a dozen (2 or 7) in the column of units (12) when, in a subtraction, the bottom digit is higher than the top one.

  In the pale yellow (13) and pale green (14) columns, all the different boxes (stages) are provided with a suspension cylinder (35) of wood or plastic, centered in their upper part, and stuck in the table. , perpendicular to the plane of it. The length of the cylinder (35) protruding from the table is exactly 36 mm, allowing the suspension of only nine plates (2 or 3) at the most, and thus requiring the conversion of platelets 2880723 -4- into a higher unit ( ten yellow plates are converted into a green, ten green into one orange).

  In the yellow box of the band number 2, in its upper part and on the left, is added a cylinder (20) with a length of approximately 20 mm. In the framework of a subtraction, one will fix there the ten to retain which would have been possibly added in the column of the units (12).

  In the white column (15), only the first three boxes of the bottom (band number 1, 2 and 3) are provided with a cylinder (35). The orange platelets of the thousands will be suspended when, in a large number operation, the results, intermediate or final, exceed the hundreds.

  Each of the first four boxes from the bottom of the white column (15) is provided with a gripping tissue pad of about 4 cm2 (33). It is fixed slightly off-center to the bottom and to the left. We can thus fix the operative signs (5).

  All the suspension cylinders (35, 19 and 20) have the same color as the surface of the board 15 to which they are attached.

  All the suspension cylinders (35, 19 and 20) are slightly rounded at their projecting end so as not to present an offensive and dangerous character.

  All this hardware device (table plus removable parts) is completed by a set of photocopiable cognitive reinvestment cards (21) which are a reduced representation of the plane of the naked operating table.

  This form serves as a support for written exercises in which the student may be asked to pose, complete or solve operations.

  The different quantities of the removable elements of the operating table are the following: (these quantities are minimal and can be increased): Blue cubes: 30.

Yellow pads: 30.

Green plates: 30.

Orange plates: 18.

  Blue Digital Cards: 3 sets of 10 cards, each with numbers from 0 to 9.

  Yellow digital cards: 3 sets of 10 cards each with numbers from 0 to 9. Green digital cards: 3 sets of 10 cards, each with numbers from 0 to 9. Digital cards orange: 2 sets of 10 cards each with the numbers of 0 to 9. Signs +: 3.

  All these removable elements are stored in a storage box (22) which also serves as a display of these elements when using the operating table. The box has: a pale blue box (23) to receive the blue cubes (1), a pale yellow box (24) for the yellow plates (2), a light green box (25) for the green plates (3), an orange box (26) for the orange plates (4), a red box (27) for the operative signs (5), a black box (28) for the calculation bars (6), a blue box (29) for blue digital cards (7), yellow box (30) for yellow digital cards (7), green box (31) for green digital cards (7), and orange box (32) for orange digital cards (7).

  The storage box (22) has the following dimensions: height: 140 mm, width: 320 15 mm, length: 510 mm.

  Operation of the operating table.

  By way of example, in the case of the addition 245 + 13: with the symbol objects (see FIG. 4), five blue cubes (1) are fixed or suspended in the band number 3 and in their respective columns. , four yellow plates (2) and two green plates (3). In band 2, we fix or suspend three blue cubes (1), a yellow plate (2) and the operative sign + (5). The calculation bar (6) is in turn fixed on the horizontal black line (16) which separates the strips 1 and 2.

  The calculation is then performed as for a written operation starting from the units: The sum of the blue cubes (1) of the bands 3 and 2 is equal to eight. So we put, right below in the band number 1, eight blue cubes (1).

  The sum of the yellow platelets (2) is equal to five. We therefore place just below, in the band number 1, five yellow plates (2).

  The sum of the green plates (3) is equal to two. Thus, just below the band 1, two green plates (3) are placed.

  We can then place the sign = (5) in the white column (15) of the band number 1, and read the result which is displayed there: two hundreds, five tens and eight units; or 258.

  With the digital cards (7), for the same operation, one proceeds in the same manner: One fixes or suspends in the band number 3 and in their respective columns, a blue card bearing the number five, a yellow card bearing the number four and a green card with the number two. In the band number 2, we fix or suspend a blue card bearing the number 3 and a yellow card bearing the number 1. The operative signs (5) are fixed at the same locations as before.

  The result shall be displayed in band number 1 by a green card bearing the number two, a yellow card bearing the number five, and a blue card bearing the number eight; or 258.

Claims (1)

7 CLAIMS   1) Teaching tool for teaching operational techniques of numerical calculation (addition, subtraction and multiplication), characterized in that it is in the form of a table (34), organized according to the plan of a set operation involving the manipulation of objects (1 to 4) representing numbers, digital cards (7), and operating symbols (5 and 6) arranged on the board (34) by suspension or hooking by gripping fabric (17, 18 and 33). Objects or cards representing numbers have the same coloring as the places where they can be displayed on the board.   2) Device according to claim 1 characterized in that the table (34) has four vertical columns (12 to 15), three of which (12 to 14) have a color corresponding to the different removable elements they can receive : blue for the units (12), yellow for the tens (13) and green for the hundreds (14).   3) Device according to claim 1 characterized in that the table (34) is equipped with suspension cylinders (19, 20 and 35), fixed perpendicularly thereto, on which are suspended the objects (1 to 4) or cards ( 7) Representing numbers.   4) Device according to claim 4 characterized in that the suspension cylinders (35) have a length equal to exactly nine times the thickness of the plates (2) and plates (3 and 4) they receive, prohibiting hanging there a tenth, and thus forcing a conversion of these ten elements into a higher numerical unit.   5) Device according to claim 1 characterized in that the table (34) is equipped with tissue gripping surfaces (17, 18 and 33), intended to receive by hooking, the removable elements equipped with the same, in the places provided for this effect.   6) Device according to claim 1 characterized in that it consists of a set of removable parts, made of blue cubes (1) each representing a unit, yellow plates (2) each representing a dozen, green plates ( 3) each representing a hundred, and orange plates (4) each representing a thousand.   7) Device according to claim 1 characterized in that it consists of a set of colored removable digital cards (7), each bearing a number representing a number of units, tens, hundreds, or thousands.
