Abstract

The mechanism has a parking lock gear (8) integrated in rotation to a drive shaft (4). A locking bar (28) carries a locking bar arm of the gear and swivels around a fixed axle (10) between a reinforced angular position and a disengaged angular position. A position sensor (21) supplies a signal representing the disengaged or reinforced angular position of the locking bar. The locking bar arm engages between two teeth of the lock gear in the reinforced angular position, and is brought back by a release spring. An independent claim is also included for an automatic transmission including a drive shaft locking mechanism.

Description

2879151 1

The invention relates to a mechanism for locking a transmission shaft of a motor vehicle, and more particularly of the transmission shaft at the output of a motor vehicle. automatic gearbox or gearbox.

Conventionally, a locking mechanism of a transmission shaft of a motor vehicle comprises a wheel, called a parking wheel, toothed, integral in rotation with the transmission shaft, and a locking lever which carries a locking pin of the toothed wheel tilting about a fixed axis between an armed angular position in which the locking finger engages between two teeth of the parking wheel, and an unobstructed angular position, towards which it is recalled by a disengagement spring.

On vehicles equipped with automatic gearbox or an electric motor associated with a gearbox, the driver has a lever for controlling the running of the vehicle. This control lever generally has several positions, including at least the following: forward (D), reverse (R), neutral point (N) and parking (P). The lever transmits its position to the gearbox or gearbox via a cable or linkage. The parking position (P) corresponds to a parking state of the vehicle, in which the movement of the vehicle must be prohibited. For this, the transmission shaft of the gearbox or reducer is immobilized, which prevents the rotation of the drive wheels of the vehicle and immobilizes it.

Typically, the transmission shaft of an automatic transmission comprises a gear wheel, also called a parking wheel. A locking lever pivotally mounted on the gearbox comprises a locking pin which can be inserted into a slot between two teeth of the toothed wheel when the locking lever pivots, thus achieving a rotational stop of the gear wheel and of the drive shaft. The geometry and materials of the teeth and the locking finger are chosen so that the locking lever is not wedged between the teeth when the wheel is biased by a torque, for example when the vehicle is parked in a steep slope.

The holding of the locking finger between the teeth of the toothed wheel only results from the forces applied by a control mechanism. A release spring mounted on the axis of rotation of the locking lever tends to keep it clear of the toothed wheel. A control lever connected to an actuator interacts with the locking lever by pivoting it so that the locking finger engages in a slot of the gearwheel. The control lever is controlled by the cable or the linkage, via a spring and a slide.

When the locking finger is engaged in a slot of the toothed wheel, the user of the parking brake must have the information confirming that the brake is activated. This information reports to the user that the locking finger is in the engaged position so that it conforms to the commanded position by means of the external control. This control responds to a need for operational safety for the user, who must be warned that the parking brake function is ensured or not.

In conventional automatic transmissions, a multifunctional contactor gives electrical information confirming that the control axis of the parking system is maneuvered 2879151. This multifunction switch is placed on the input shaft of the gearbox, and is controlled mechanically by this axis. When this switch is actuated, an electrical information is sent to the computer of the gearbox which goes up the information towards an indicator, for example a light indicator, and positioned next to the lever of the external control or on the dashboard.

The documents EP-0571274 and FR-2810422 disclose transmission shaft locking mechanisms as described above, in which the information relating to the activation of the parking brake is managed by the computer of the gearbox. In addition, the multifunction switch controls the movements and positions of the parking control to the input axis of the box. One of the disadvantages of such systems is related to the lack of control of the elements of the parking system which are located downstream of the input shaft of the gearbox. In case of breakage of one of these elements and activation of the parking brake, the multifunction switch validates the information in the direction of the indicators, while the controlled function is not ensured. These systems suffer from a malfunction that is detrimental to the safety of the user.

The present invention aims to provide an improved locking mechanism of a transmission shaft of a vehicle to reliably determine that the parking wheel is locked in the parking position (P) when selected.

For this purpose, the present invention provides a locking mechanism comprising a position sensor which provides a signal representative of the angular position armed or disengaged from the locking lever.

The proposed mechanism is equipped with a position sensor which cooperates with the parking finger which constitutes the last piece before the parking wheel. The number of parts of the 2879151 4 mechanism controlled by the sensor thus installed is maximum which provides an advantage in terms of operational safety. Placing the sensor at the locking pin prevents a failure of the locking mechanism very upstream of the drive train.

The locking mechanism of a transmission shaft of a motor vehicle according to the invention also has the following characteristics, independently or in combination: the position sensor is a two-position electrical switch, the electric switch is actuated by a protrusion of the locking lever to confirm that the parking wheel is locked or not, the position sensor is a non-contact position sensor, the non-contact position sensor cooperates with a target positioned on the locking lever, the position sensor comprises an actuator whose axis is orthogonal to the plane of movement of the locking lever and cooperates with a ramp of the locking lever, and the axis of the contactor is parallel to the plane of movement of the locking lever .

The present invention further relates to an automatic gearbox, characterized in that it comprises a locking mechanism according to the invention, the transmission shaft being an output shaft of the gearbox.

The invention will be better understood on reading the following description of an embodiment taken by way of particular example thereof and not limiting, in conjunction with the accompanying drawings, in which: - Figure 1 is a FIG. 2 is a view along arrow A of the casing mentioned in FIG. 1, showing a first embodiment of the control device in the disengaged position, FIG. 3 corresponds to the same embodiment of FIG. embodiment in the braking position, seen in three dimensions, - Figures 4, 5 and 6 illustrate the same invention with a position sensor positioned in mounting configurations that vary depending on the architecture of the gearbox.

In FIG. 1, the motor 1, for example an electric motor, of a motor vehicle, is associated with a gearbox 2, which transmits the movement to the wheels 3 via the transmission shaft 4. This shaft passes through the housing 5 constituting the front wall of the gearbox 2. On the inner face of the housing 5, a recess 5 ', formed in the mass thereof, receives the end gears 6 and 7 of two shafts 4 and 4' of the mechanism reduction. The parking wheel 8 is carried by the shaft 4 outside the housing 5.

FIG. 2, showing the control elements disposed on the outside face of the casing 5, shows, in broken lines, the implantation of the recess 5 'in the mass of the casing and the edge of the side wall 2' of the reducer 2, on which is supported the housing 5.

As indicated above, the parking wheel 8 is integral in rotation with the transmission shaft 4. The teeth 8 ', cut on the periphery thereof, are intended to receive a locking pin 9 of a control lever. blocking 28 pivoting on an axis 10 carried by the casing 5. An unlocking spring 11, wound around the axis 10 of the locking lever 28, bears against an arrangement, not shown, of the casing 5 and the lever 28 of in order to ensure the withdrawal thereof when unlocking the parking wheel 8. A control lever 12 maintains 2879151 6 in an unlocked position, illustrated in Figure 2, the locking pin 9 set back from the parking wheel 8.

As illustrated in detail in Figure 3, the end 13 of the locking lever 28 is actuated by a control lever 12 to allow the engagement of the finger 9 between two teeth 8 'of the wheel 8. This control lever 12 is connected via a metal rod 15, to a connecting rod 17 secured to a control shaft 16.

The operation of the first embodiment of the invention will now be described with reference to FIGS. 2 and 3, respectively illustrating the situation of this device when the parking brake is not locked and when it is locked, the Figure 4 showing the device in three dimensions in locked position. In Figure 2, the selection lever is in the neutral position (N). The locking pin 9 is then released from the parking wheel 8. It is the same when the selection lever is in the forward (D) or reverse (R). On the other hand, when the selection lever is in the parking position (P), according to FIG. 3, the parking brake is locked thanks to the engagement of the locking finger 9 between two teeth 8 ', under the action of the lever order 12.

The kinematic chain, for engaging or disengaging the locking finger 9, to actuate the parking brake, is as follows. When the user engages a speed, for example when he selects the parking position (P), via a control selector, not shown, a rotating means, not shown, rotates the control shaft 16. The it then drives the rod 17 which transmits its movement to the rod 15. Under the action of the metal rod 15 and a spring 19 mounted on the metal rod 15 between the rod 17 and the lever 12, the latter translates along the guide 18 by actuating the lever 28 which is rotated about its axis 10. The finger 9 then engages between two teeth 8 'of the wheel 8 to lock the drive shaft 4 .

The spring 19 exerts an arming force intended to engage the finger 9 when the parking position (P) is selected and the finger 9 is facing a tooth 8 'of the wheel 8. Indeed, it is possible that the finger 9 can not be interposed between two teeth 8 'and remains wedged against a tooth 8'. In this case, when the vehicle initiates a movement when the user selects the parking position (P), the shaft 4 pivots by driving the wheel 8. The control lever 12 is always biased by the arming effort exerted by the spring 19 which allows to engage the finger 9 between two teeth 8 'of the wheel 8 when it arrives in front of a hollow.

the arrangement made for the passage of the tilting axis 10. This protrusion 20 is intended to cooperate with a position sensor 21 integrally connected to the housing 5 or the front wall of the gearbox 2 as a function of the geometry of the locking mechanism . The position sensor 21 must be positioned so that there is cooperation with the protrusion 20 so that the sensor 21 provides a signal representative of the position of the locking finger 9. In a first embodiment of FIG. embodiment of the invention, the sensor 21 is a two-position electrical switch whose end moves to the passage of the protrusion 20, establishing an electrical signal.

In the embodiment shown in Figures 2 and 3, the position sensor 21 is positioned so that it is actuated by the protrusion 20 when the locking lever 28 is in the engaged position, that is that is to say that the locking finger is engaged between two teeth 8 'of the parking wheel 8. In FIG. 2, 3, according to the invention and according to all of FIGS. 4, 5 and 6, the locking lever 28 has an outgrowth located opposite the protrusion 13 at 2879151 8 2, the axis of the sensor 21 is normal to the deflection plane of the locking lever 28. In this configuration, the sensor 21 is still in contact with the protrusion 20 of the lever 28 and the signal is given only when the switch rod is in the up position, that is to say when the control lever 28 is in the disengaged angular position. From the point of view of the user, information is transmitted towards a light indicator, not shown, when the sensor 21 is actuated by the protrusion 20. When the light indicator receives the information, the latter activates by confirming to the user that the parking position (P) is correctly engaged. In the same way, the indicator light goes off when the position sensor 21 is no longer actuated by the protrusion 20. In this case, the user obtains confirmation that the locking mechanism of the wheel of parking 8 is no longer activated, and that it has started another speed.

The fact that the position sensor 21 is in contact with the first part interacting with the parking wheel 8, increases the operational safety of the locking mechanism. Indeed, this ensures control of all parts of this mechanism from the gear selection lever, not shown, to the locking lever 28. For example, in the case of a rupture of the gear selection cable or of the control lever 12, the user will have confirmation that there is a failure in the locking mechanism. In one embodiment of the invention, the position sensor 21 may for example be connected to the on-board computer of the vehicle, which triggers an alert to the user when the state of the position sensor 21 differs from the order made by the user.

Figures 4, 5 and 6 show other embodiments of the invention. In these configurations, the axis of the sensor 21 2179151 9 is located in the deflection plane of the locking lever 28. Depending on the arrangements and architectures chosen for the implementation of such parking wheel lock mechanisms 8 on the housing 5, the position sensor can be implanted in different positions. Depending on where the contact between the protrusion 20 and the position sensor 21 takes place, the latching finger information 9 can be translated alternately by a contact or an absence of contact between these two elements.

In another embodiment not shown, the position sensor 21 may advantageously be a sensor without contact with the locking lever. The axis of such a non-contact sensor may also be or not in the deflection plane of the locking lever 28. This type of non-contact sensor may advantageously cooperate with a metal sensor positioned on the locking lever 28. The distance between the sensor without contact and the marker varying according to the position of the lever 28, the sensor can alternatively send a signal.

The fact of taking the information in direct contact with the locking lever 28 via a position sensor makes it possible to obtain an effective locking mechanism whose failures can be detected and analyzed by an on-board computer of a vehicle for example. The operational safety is increased by checking if the position of the finger of the locking lever 28 is in accordance with the position controlled by the user.
