Abstract
Description
DESCRIPTIONDESCRIPTION
The present invention relates to the manufacture of a wind instrument with conical bore, with side holes and double reed of Europe, called bombard. This instrument is formed of several parts either fixed or removable, in the following rigid materials: aluminum, copper, brass, monel, titanium ..., preferably brass or copper.
Originally, this instrument is traditionally made of boxwood, fruitwood, ebony and various types of wood. synthetic.
In wood, the instruments are weakened and crack because of the difference of tension inside / outside: the interior expands because of the humidity (the condensation of the breath of the player) while the outside stays dry and that the wood can not resist this pressure from the inside. Shocks during transport, during use, or moisture, deteriorate its sound quality, alter its sound, cause cracks or burst and render the instrument unusable.
The manufacture of these metal instruments according to this invention eliminates these weaknesses.
The invention also improves the sound quality by making the sound clearer and more powerful without changing its traditional form. (see the model shown on plate 2/3).
Moreover, these materials make it possible to obtain, a precision (machining, drilling, shaping, ...), a thinner wall which improves the sound quality without altering its solidity.
The precise machining of the plug (1) inside forms a sealed contact zone with the double reed.
Le boisseau (1) peut être soudé.The plug (1) can be welded.
The transport is facilitated by the possibility of disassembly of the parts constituting the instrument, this model can change tone by the change of the body of the instrument. The body (2) may have non-slip parts (4) on the outer wall. The method of manufacture and the materials used limit its reproduction.
A method of manufacturing metal bombardment enhances sound quality and resistance to internal / external stresses, temperature changes, humidity, shock and transport.
Figure 1 (fixed model): After the cutting of the metal parts to defined lengths, the different compressions, machining and shaping make it possible to form the body, the pavilion and the bushel.
The assembly is done by welding silver, copper and tin ... .The holes are then drilled at distances and diameters specific to each model with or without key.
An attempt is then made to check the accuracy and ease of play of the instrument, corrections can be made.
The change of the length of the body (2) makes it possible to change the tonalite (variable length according to the musical note desired).
Figure 2 (removable model): The assembly of the different parts of the instrument is done by interlocking allowing disassembly, facilitating transport and storage and cleaning.
