Abstract

According to the invention, this support (1) comprises two identical parts (2), suitable for being assembled together, each of these parts (2) comprising a central upright (3) and two pairs of crosspieces ( 4); each upright (3) has a width greater than its thickness and comprises a longitudinal notch (5) opening at one of its ends and arranged in the direction of its thickness; this notch (5) extends over at least half the height of the upright (3) and has a width slightly greater than the thickness of said upright (3); the crosspieces (4) are arranged perpendicular to the upright (3) and the crosspieces (4) of a pair of crosspieces project on respective opposite sides of this upright (4).

Description

The present invention relates to a support for trays, in particular
for a seafood platter, for dishes or shaped objects
similar planes.
A seafood platter has relatively large dimensions and must, in order to be able to be placed on a table of relatively small dimensions, be placed on a support which
maintains height.
There is a support provided for such an application, comprising an upper annular part, on which the tray is intended to be placed, a lower annular part, intended to come to rest on a table.
and uprights of adequate length, connecting these two annular parts.
This support has the drawback of being very bulky, taking into account the minimum dimensions that the abovementioned annular parts must have in order to ensure the stability of the plate. This congestion problem
arises to an individual and especially to a restaurant.
In addition, this support is relatively expensive to manufacture.
The present invention aims to remedy these significant practical drawbacks by providing a support for a space-saving and inexpensive tray to manufacture, without, however, the stability of
this support is lessened.
According to the invention, the support comprises two identical parts, suitable for being assembled together, each of these parts comprising a central upright and two pairs of crosspieces; each upright has a width greater than its thickness and comprises a longitudinal notch opening at one of its ends and arranged in the direction of its thickness; this notch extends over at least half the height of the upright and has a width slightly greater than the thickness of said upright; the crosspieces are arranged perpendicular to the upright and the crosspieces of a pair of
sleepers protrude on respective opposite sides of this upright.
Thus, the amount of a part can be engaged in the notch of the other part by simple sliding, and vice versa, to carry out the assembly of the two parts, with setting of one part with respect to the other. The reciprocal engagement of these two pieces is such that the upper crosspieces of the two pieces are in the same plane while the lower crosspieces of these same pieces are also in the same plane, the crosspieces of the two pieces being oriented
in directions perpendicular to each other.
In this position for assembling the parts, the upper and lower crosspieces constitute two respective bearing surfaces, spaced from one another, so that the assembly constitutes a support, the upper crosspieces forming a bearing surface for a plate on this support and the lower crosspieces constituting a bearing surface of this
stand on a table.
This support thus makes it possible to enhance bulky dishes while providing a space on the surface of the table, this space being left free by the design of the support, so that other utensils, covered,
various containers, etc. can be placed on the table.
The support according to the invention is also very useful for arranging buffets because it allows presentation on a more
important without hindering the visibility of the dishes or the service.
When not in use, the two parts can be separated and pressed against each other, so that they can be stored under
low volume, for example in a drawer.
The crosspieces can have identical lengths on the same piece. They can also have different lengths, so that the support formed with these parts is suitable for trays or dishes of elongated shape. If necessary, two supports can
be used in the case of dishes of considerable length.
The support according to the invention can be made of any suitable material, in particular a plastic material having a rigidity
adapted, and can be produced by molding, at a low cost price.
This support can have different ornamental shapes
depending on the style and use desired.
For its proper understanding, the invention is again described below with reference to the appended schematic drawing representing, by way of nonlimiting example, a preferred embodiment of the support that it relates to. FIG. 1 is a perspective view thereof before assembly of the two parts which constitute it, and
Figure 2 is a perspective view after assembly.
The figures represent a support 1 for trays, in particular for a seafood tray, for dishes or shaped objects
similar planes.
The support 1 comprises two identical parts 2, suitable for being assembled to one another. Each of these parts 2 comprises a central upright 3 and
two pairs of crosspieces 4.
Each upright 3 has a rectangular cross section, so that it has a width greater than its thickness, and includes a longitudinal notch 5. This notch 5 opens at one of the longitudinal ends of the support 3 and is arranged in the sense of the thickness of it. It extends over half the height of the upright 3 and has a width slightly greater than the thickness of said upright 3, so that, as shown in FIG. 2, the upright 3 of the other part 2 can be engaged in this notch 5 at the same time as the notch 5 of said other part 2 is engaged around the upright 3 of the
first part 2 cited.
The crosspieces 4 are arranged perpendicular to the upright 3, and the crosspieces 4 of a pair of crosspieces project on respective opposite sides of this upright 3. It appears in FIG. 2 that the reciprocal engagement of the two parts 2 is such that the upper faces of the upper crosspieces 4 of the two pieces 2 are in the same plane while the lower faces of the lower crosspieces 4 of these same pieces 2 are also in the same plane, the crosspieces 4 of a piece 2 being oriented in a direction perpendicular to
that of the sleepers 4 of the other room 2.
In this assembly position of the parts 2, the upper and lower crosspieces constitute two respective bearing surfaces, spaced from one another. The upper crosspieces 4 form a bearing surface for a tray on this support 1 thus formed and the crosspieces 4
lower constitute a bearing surface of this support 1 on a table.
The invention thus provides a support making it possible to remedy the drawbacks of homologous supports of the prior art, since it is compact and inexpensive to manufacture, without however
that its stability be reduced.
