Abstract

The apparatus consists of upper (1) and lower (2) halfrings which can be fitted together round a bundle of logs or other articles. The half-rings are made from symmetrical or asymmetrical components of steel or other metal, bent into semi-circles which are joined together by overlapping ends with holes for pins (11) with retaining clips. The circle formed by the rings has an inner diameter of 1.130 m and two rings can be joined by a series of lengthwise tubes.

Description

Autonomous wrapping machine.

  Technical field: This autonomous, mobile, manual device, movable empty and sometimes in charge by rolling it on itself, can be used for bundling (bundling), often of one cubic meter, with strapping and cubage, of logs of wood, staves, crusts and wood waste, rounds, tubes and parts in all materials, then deposit them on the ground without significant effort, all manually without intervention of a

  tractor or other motorized vehicle.

  The use of this new device limits the use of a tractor or other handling machine to the subsequent resumption of bundles, at the end of the day and even more generally after several days or weeks,

  without waiting time of the motorized vehicle between transport.

  PRIOR ART: Stering and strapping devices already exist, but the sides of these devices are often, if not always, lined with side walls fitted with bearing bearings allowing the

  lifting, transport and, for depositing parts on the ground, tilting the receiving basket.

  These walls hamper and slow down the filling of the device.

  Handling and transport equipment to be present to handle these devices, both empty and loaded, are immobilized and unproductive during the hours of making steres,

therefore expensive.

  A woodcutter cuts and makes 5 to 9 cubic meters of firewood per day from 7 to 8

  hours, while their only evacuation can range from 20 to 50 burdens, per day from 7 to 8 hours.

  The CTU is only used for approximately 20% of the shrinkage time.

  Description of the invention: The device is in two main parts, high (1) and low (2), curved in a semicircle, which can be assembled without exception by simple interlocking and can be secured by pins, and a frame

  bearing (3) intended to receive the lower part (2) for the removal of the burden.

  The user builds up room after room there, without being bothered by side faces, a given volume.

  The center of gravity of the pieces wrapped in the device being at the center of gravity of the bundle, the latter is deposited on the ground by simple action on the lower part which rolls on the frame in such a way that the pieces escape from the momentum imparted to them by a small force, force

  within the reach of any person, and by the gravity exerted on the mass of the parts.

  The small overall width of the device (80 cm without exception, depending on the length given to

  spacers) facilitates its passage between obstacles.

  The upper parts (1) on the one hand, and the lower part (2) on the other hand, independent of each other, each consist of two symmetrical or non-symmetrical structures, respectively (4) and (5), made of metal profiles and appropriate sections (or laminates or tubes or solid)

  curved in a semicircle and joined by spacers (12 and 13).

  The upper part of the device can, to allow the removal of the bundle by the lower part, be easily

  detached from the lower part to be removed and placed on the side.

  Upper part (1): The upper part consists of 2 symmetrical or non-symmetrical structures (4) made of spacer profiles of light section, bent in the shape of a semicircle, preferably in iron tube 33/42 mm, or in tube 75 mm outside diameter iron 1.5 to 2 mm thick. Two to four spacers (12)

  of the upper part (1) are preferably made of 26/34 mm iron tube.

  Lower part (2): The lower part consists of 2 symmetrical or non-symmetrical structures (5)

  spacers, curved in a semicircle.

  Its profiles can be made of steel or another metal. Preferably in 100 mm U-shaped iron, possibly made up of two 50 mm iron angles welded to each other, or in an iron tube of

  outer diameter 76.1 mm, or in iron tube from 50 to 90 mm, or in aluminum profile, or other yet.

  These two structures (5) are braced by 4 to 5 tubes (13), preferably 40/49 mm iron tube.

  To make it easy to predispose the strapping links before loading the parts, whether by strings, metal or plastic strips, or by any other link: the spacers are all centered on the structures (4) and ( 5) or offset to the outside of these structures. So the

  wrapped pieces do not block ties, neither against structures nor against spacers.

  If the high (1) and low (2) structures are made with tubes, whatever the format, they fit together by convex extensions (6) or cross-pieces (7) in the opposite structure, the extensions ( 6) have an outside diameter such that they engage in the tube of the structure where they are

  fixed by welding. It would be iron tube of 60/70 for a tube structure of 0 76.1 outside.

  If the profiles of the lower part (2) are made of U-shaped iron of 100 mm, the interlockings are made by means of female guides (8) arranged in the side of the low structures and male extensions (9) of the structures of the part high (1), stops (10) positioning them in good position. In this case the guides (8) are made of 40/49 mm iron tube 50 mm long welded inside the U of 100, on the outside

  of the device, the extensions (9) engaging the guides (8) then being in 26/34 mm tube.

  The upper (1) and lower (2) parts are assembled by four primary pins (11) passing through the

  structures (4) and (5), the extensions (6) or (7), the guides (8) and the extensions (9).

  The primary pins (11), preferably 12 mm in diameter, carry a ring head and have a

  cylindrical body pierced at the end to receive a secondary pin (G) in the form of Beta.

  The upper (1) and lower (2) parts together form a template delimiting between them a given circular surface. Area of one square meter when the structures provide an interior vacuum of a

  1.130 meter diameter. In this case, 1 cubic meter is produced with pieces 1 meter long.

  With pieces of different length we will have a volume in proportion to the length of the pieces.

  With a different diameter we will have a different volume, also varying according to the length of the pieces. Any other diameter, to be studied on a case-by-case basis, can be made depending on the length desired for

  the parts and the volume sought.

  Examples for a cubic meter: D = 1.052 m for 1.15 m long, D = 1.030 m for 1.20 m long,

D = 0.921 m for 1.50 m long.

D = 0.798 m for 2.00 m long.

  Driving FRAME. (3) This is an integral part of the system.

  It consists of two symmetrical beams (14 and 15), straight and spacers. turned towards each other, in laminate, or profiled. The lower part of the device is guided and rolls there without brake or pain. This frame is preferably made with iron angles of 70 or 80 mm by 1400 mm long, with one of the wings placed flat and the other placed vertically upwards. The spacers then being

  made of 26/34 mm iron tube.

  This frame carries a spacer (16) above and at one of its ends to serve as a stop at the lower part during loading and below, to keep the frame in place, one or more

  spacers (17), including one at the opposite end of the top spacer (16).

  There is a "Mono" model which has its upper part (1) lighter than its lower part (2) so that it can be lifted without assistance, and be placed or collected at the lower part. This upper part is used

  also of size limit. This version is rather intended for people working alone.

  There is an "Articulated" model whose upper part (1) lighter than its lower part (2) is articulated on this lower part by two hinges (18) and two of the four primary pins (11) while the interlocking 'opposite hinges are made as on the other models. On this model the upper part does not have to be placed on the ground before removing the bundle. This model can however be used like the Mono model by depositing the upper part next to the lower part before removing

on the floor of the bundle.

  There is a "Duo" model, the upper part (1) of which is identical and symmetrical to the lower part (2) of the "Mono" model. This gives two cradles allowing the simultaneous preparation of two bundles,

  then, as for the other models, easy displacement when empty after reassembly.

  The 'duo' also allows, when the ground allows it, displacements before discharge. What can be the

case in a storage store.

  A "duo" device costs less than two "mono" devices and is particularly suitable for two

  users working close to each other.

  To bring the empty device closer to other waiting rooms, the user moves

  a) the frame by sliding thanks to the top spacer (16) which then serves as a handle.

  b) the device, reassembled and empty, by rolling it on the ground.

  Before recharging the device is again placed on its frame (3), it is immobilized there by the top spacer and by simple wedging of any wedge which will be removed before

  tilting for a new removal to the ground.

  The device normally delivered with its rolling frame (3) can be delivered without this frame.

  Upcoming industrial realization: A device has been realized. It was used to make nearly 200 bundles of a cubic meter of

  heating, to the satisfaction of the woodcutter and his assistant responsible for evacuation to a forest line.

  This device, in one or the other of its three versions, could interest a good number of loggers and other bundlers in the forests and sawmills of all countries, and in many stores of storage and

of sale.

  It could be used for other activities, such as various tube shops.

  We can at least assume and hope so.

Claims (9)
