Abstract
Description
The invention is in the field of cutlery, and it relates to a multi-room table utensil which can be conveniently. put in pocket.
Known closing knives comprising a handle composed of two linings assembled together by riveting, said handle hingedly supporting a blade which is alternately either deployed and held in this position by elastic locking means, or housed in a reserve provided between the two linings.
More particularly known are closing knives, called multi-pieces, equipped in addition to the blade with a plurality of accessories, such as corkscrew, can opener, scissors, file or even saw.
We finally know by patent
FR2511858 (ROSAZ) a multi-piece closing knife with which table cutlery intended to be stored against the handle is associated. The handle comprises for this purpose on its lateral faces of the longitudinal rods for lateral positioning of a cover and a pivoting lock cooperating with the cover to hold the latter against the handle.
The object of the invention is to provide a pocket utensil, of the kind mainly consisting of a multi-piece closing knife, with which table cutlery is associated.
The utensil of the invention is of the kind of multi-room pocket utensil, comprising a closing knife with which table cutlery, spoon or fork in particular are associated, intended to be stored against a respective lateral face of the handle or alternatively to be removed in view of their use.
The inventive step consisted in providing the lateral faces of the handle of the knife, in the first place of means of maintenance of a table cover, spoon or fork in particular, restricting the mobility of this one in the general plan of the lateral face of the handle corresponding, and secondly means of blocking the cover in said plan. Said holding means are constituted, for each of the lateral faces of the handle, by a passage formed in an extra thickness extending at one of the ends of the handle, inside which passage is introduced in sliding contact with the handle, or tail, of a table cutlery, spoon or fork in particular, while the effective part of the cutlery (spoon or fork) is placed against a setback at the other end of the handle, setback which advantageously results from the presence of the extra thickness .
Said locking means consist of two opposing elastic longitudinal support stops of the cover against the handle.
It will be noted that the corridors are preferably formed at the same end of the handle, corresponding in particular to that where the blade of the knife is articulated, but that in an equivalent manner and without departing from the general rule of the invention, the corridors can be arranged at the other end of the handle or even be provided at a respective end of the handle.
Note also that the corridors are open or not on the corresponding side face of the handle.
However and according to a preferred embodiment, the corridors have a T-section to provide lateral positioning of the cutlery and a retention of the latter in the general plane of the lateral face of the corresponding handle, while being open to the outside and opening at both ends to facilitate cleaning and guarantee satisfactory hygiene of the utensil.
It will be understood that the said elastic support may result either from an assembly on the handle of any at least of the stops by means of an elastic member, spring in particular, or and preferably by a joining of the stops to the handle and an exploitation of the bending of the cover in its zone extending between the two stops.
Thus and preferably, one of said abutment stops consists of a bead against which the end of the effective member of the corresponding accessory is intended to be applied, said bead being formed in the vicinity of the corresponding end of the sleeve the other of the support stops is constituted by said extra thickness, against the end of which is intended to come to bear a shoulder of the accessory. Crossing of the bead by the effective member of the accessory is effected by an elastic bending of its tail under the effect of its introduction by the user into the corresponding corridor, the blocking of the accessory against the handle resulting from the double antagonistic stop and the elastic deformation of the accessory.
The handle, preferably composed of two fittings assembled to each other by riveting, is further arranged to receive in an articulated manner additional members, can openers and corkscrews in particular, which, in the closed position of the utensil, are preferably housed in one of the handle linings while the other lining houses the blade of the knife, so that the assembled linings are adjacent and preferably in direct contact against each other in at minus two points, while their internal volume is occupied respectively by the additional members and by the blade.
The present invention will be better understood, and details will become apparent from the description which will be made of a preferred embodiment, in relation to the figures in the appended plate, in which:
FIG. 1 is a perspective view of a utensil according to a preferred embodiment of the invention, the table accessories of which are removed and the blade of which is in the closed position,
FIG. 2 is a perspective view of the same utensil, the table accessories of which are stored against the lateral faces of the handle, and the blade of which is in the open position,
Figs. 3 and 4 are views in longitudinal section of a respective lining making up the handle of the same utensil, the said linings having been separated and folded down.
In the figures and according to the invention, a multi-room pocket utensil forming a table set is of the kind of utensil mainly consisting of a closing knife. This utensil has the following characteristics, taken alone or in combination:
The handle 2,4 comprises on a part of each of its lateral faces an extra thickness 6 and 8 in which is formed a longitudinal corridor 10 for receiving the elongated element 12 and 14 with the handle function, called tail, of a cooking utensil. table, said to be covered, for storage against the handle 2.4. The other part of each of the side faces of the handle has a recess 16 and 18 to receive, without overflow, the effective member (spoon 20 or fork 22) of the related cover.
The corridors 10 are shaped so as to limit by themselves the mobility of the cover 10, 20 and 12, 22 which they receive, in the general plane of the lateral face of the corresponding handle 2.4. Cover blocking means, preventing its mobility in said plane, include a couple of opposing stops 26 and 28 for longitudinal support of the accessory against the handle 2,4.
According to a preferred embodiment, one of said stops consists of a bead 26 against which is intended to come to bear the end of the effective member 20 or 22 of the corresponding cover, said bead 26 being formed in the vicinity of the corresponding end of the handle 2.4. The other of the support stops is constituted by the extra thickness 6 or 8, against the end 28 of which the extra thickness 6 or 8 is intended to come to bear a shoulder 30 of the cover. The effective crossing of the bead 26 by the effective member 20 or 22 of the cover is made by bending its tail 12 or 14 under the effect of its introduction by the user into the corresponding corridor 10. Maintaining the accessory against the handle 2,4 results from a double antagonistic stop and from the elastic deformation of the cover, which only allow an extraction of the cover by a voluntary gesture of the user, consisting in lifting the organ effective 20 or 22 of the cover in rine printers elastic bending at its tail 12 or 14, and to pull the latter longitudinally so as to release the tail 12 or 14 out of the corridor 10.
It will be noted that, according to a preferred embodiment, the end 32 or 34 of the cutlery and the face of their tail 12 or 14 intended to be in contact with the handle 2,4 are coplanar, and that in this case the bottom of the corridors 10 and the corresponding recesses 16 or 18 are flush.
Preferably, the tail 12 or 14 of at least any one of the cutlery comprises at least one relief having the function of a tool, in particular of driving in rotation of an assembly member, such as a screwdriver plate 36 formed at the free end of the tail 12 and / or 14, or else a recess 38 shaped as a hexagon.
The utensil, moreover, advantageously comprises at least any one of the additional organs from the group of organs comprising a corkscrew 40, an additional blade, a saw, a file, a key called "sardine can opener", and a can opener 42, the said member at least 40,42 being articulated on the handle 2,4 and being provided with elastic locking means 44 in the open position at least.
In the preferred case where the handle consists of two side seals 2 and 4 assembled to each other by riveting, said additional member at least 40 or 42 is articulated on the handle 2,4 so as to be housed in closed position in respective reserves 46 and 48 contained in the interior volume of one 4 of the two linings, called the first, the blade 24 of the knife being articulated on the handle 2,4 so as to be housed in position closing in a respective reserve 50 contained in the interior volume of the other lining 2, called the second. It will be noted that such arrangements provide a juxtaposition of the internal faces of the linings 2,4.
According to the preferred embodiment illustrated in the figures, suitable for providing the user with a complete table utensil, this comprises, in addition to the blade 24 of the knife, the spoon 14.20 and the fork 12.22, two organs additional constituted respectively by a corkscrew 40 and a can opener 42.
The reserve 46 of the corkscrew 40 is formed in the extra thickness 8 of the lining 4, while that 48 of the can opener 42, which is less bulky than the corkscrew 40, is formed in the part of the lining 4 including the offset 16.
The reserves 46 and 48 respectively receiving the corkscrew 40 and the can opener 42 open out onto a respective edge of the first lining 4. The elastic locking means relating thereto, called prime, of the additional members 40 and 42 are common and are constituted by a leaf spring 44, said first, inserted in close contact between two counter-thrust reliefs 52 and 70 participants of the lining 4.
Elastic locking means 54 and 56, called second, of the blade 24 in the open position are housed in the second lining 2 and are constituted by a lever 56 articulated between its two ends, which ends are provided for one 'A pusher member 58 and for the other a stop member 60 against the closing of the blade 22, said lever 56 being subjected to a pressure exerted by a spring leaf 54, said second, inserted in close contact between two counter-thrust reliefs 62 and 64 participants of the lining 2.
Preferably, the linings 2 and 4 are in abutment against each other by means of bosses such as 66 and 68 in relief with respect to said corresponding reserves 46,48,50 receiving the blade 22 and the additional members 40 and 42.
However, it will be noted in the figures that the linings 2 and 4 5010t held in abutment against each other, not only by means of the said bosses 62 and 64, but also by means of the blade 22 and of the additional members 40 and 42, these 22,40,42 and the internal faces of the corresponding linings 2,4 flush.
Although a preferred form of the invention has been described and shown, it should be understood that the scope of the latter is not limited to this form, but that it extends to any pocket utensil comprising the characteristics set out above.
