Abstract

The locking method involves managing access to a particular location or facility from within a localised element which is mobile and personal, such as a key containing an electronic chip. When the key is introduced at the site to be controlled, the key is the active element and the fixed element is passive. Co-operation between the fixed and mobile elements may be by means of a relay, or a computer link.
