Abstract

The equipment comprises a body (1) equipped on its straight wall with a handle armed with a blade (10). The handle is fixed by an angle iron onto a movable piece which allows a triple movement for adjusting the blade height. This enables presenting the blade into the opening joint of the oyster and the lifting the cover. The handle has the effect of a lever which eases the required force. Wedging of the oyster in the head of the body enables limiting the risk of accidents to the hands. The two armed lever is used over an angle of 110 degrees in the sloping notches in order to open shellfish.
