Abstract

Tile supporting panel has a sandwich structure with built-in rafters, rigid upper and lower surfaces (4) and inner thermal insulation material (2). Preferably the upper layer is covered with a corrugated bitumen sheet material (1), shaped to receive the round tiles. When the panels are laid side by side the joints between them are covered and sealed by corrugated bitumen strips (5,6) to maintain the continuity of the corrugated surface. The panel is made in various lengths but has a constant width; the lower surface layer is a wood-based material or plaster-board, and the insulation is expanded or extruded polystyrene, polyurethane, or glass or rock wool.
