Abstract

The vertebral position regulating and correction device is designed to relieve pressure at the base of nerves and the spinal chord. It has a rigid thrust element (8) with an curved surface which can be moved in lengthwise, transverse and vertical directions. The thrust element is connected to a mechanism set in a recess in a table (1) measuring 2m by 0.50 m, the recess covering a zone of 0.20m by 0.50m in the middle of the table. The movements of the thrust element are controlled by handwheels (3,7) and parallelogram mechanisms (2,6), with the effort monitored by a stress gauge (10). In variants of the design the movements can be provided by an electric motor or hydraulic system controlled by computer.
